Sue was brought to hospital by medics after clots were found in her lungs which left her “not in a good way” according to worried Kerry.

And now the star has shared an update on Sue’s condition with fans as she thanked them for their support.

Taking to Instagram, Kerry said: “Hi everyone, I’m just giving you an update on my mum. She wants to say thank you so much for all her well wishes.”

The mum-of-five continued: “An update on my mum’s health, she’s still not very well, there is a clot attached to her heart.”

Kerry told fans that Sue has a number of underlying health conditions, before she said how she’s in the ‘right place’.

“I don’t think you’ll be coming home anytime soon mother, so me and Mr [the cat] are having fun as I can. Waiting for the washing to be done and then I will see you shortly mum.”

In a follow up story, Kerry filmed Sue from her hospital bed as she revealed her badly bruised arms.

Reiterating that she was ‘in the right place’ Sue then interrupted: “It was touch and go anyway, really bad.”

Just two years ago she was left fighting for her life after a string of heart attacks – and initially refused to go to hospital.

Sue previously said: “I had a tight chest and a pain in my left arm, so I was using the medication I usually take for angina, which is a spray I put under my tongue.

“Once I’ve taken that, the pain usually goes away.

“But this time I felt that something wasn’t right. I kept getting a weird pain in my throat and I couldn’t get my head around it.

“This had been going on for a few weeks, and it was happening at least twice a week. And then last Thursday, I experienced the pains again. But it was very intense.”

Kerry Katona's cosmetic surgery timeline

Here we look at the star's changing face - from fresh-faced pop singer to the latest £3,000 tweakment.

Kerry first went under the knife in 2004 for a boob job, and again in 2008 for another breast enhancement and liposuction.

In 2010 she also revealed she had tried to turn back time with some facial tweaks.

Kerry was bitten by the vampire facial bug in 2013 and feared she would die after a shocking reaction to the procedure, popularised by Kim Kardashian.

In 2019, Kerry sparked outrage by endorsing a ‘Katona Package’ at a London clinic offering “2ml face filler and one area fat dissolving” for £699.

When the mum-of-five approached her 40th, she celebrated with fillers and fat-dissolving injections in her chin to “enhance my natural beauty”.

Two years later Kerry joked she’d got a “brand new face” after a procedure called CoolSculpting, which freezes fat cells under the skin and destroys them. She had some fat removed from her chin and Botox injections.

In 2023, the TV star revealed a tighter jawline after treating herself to a “non-invasive facelift”.

In early 2024, Kerry had a much more invasive eye lift and brow lift in January, at a cost of over £3,000.

Thousands of households to get automatic £80 payment in weeks for energy, food and water bills

THOUSANDS of households are set to be handed an automatic £80 payment this November.

The cash will be a welcome boost for those looking to save on their energy, food and water bills in the coming weeks.

Thousands of households in the UK are set to be handed an automatic £80 payment this November[/caption]

The support is available through the UK government’s Household Support Fund (HSF).

Vulnerable residents living within the Cornwall Council could be eligible after they managed to secure £4.5million from the Department for Work and Pension.

This additional funding towards the HSF means the scheme can continue for a further six months.

The new round of cash payments have already started with people able to apply from October 1 up until March 31, 2025.

First payments will be made automatically by the end of November 2024.

The Cornwall Council website have laid out several payments available to a range of vulnerable locals.

Pensioners in receipt of Council Tax Support can get £80.

And for those families receiving Council Tax Support each child can pocket you £80.

The same bonus applies per child for those living in emergency accommodation.

Those applicable must have been on the relevant support scheme on October, 21, 2024.

If eligible for any one of the payments, residents will be sent a letter or an email from the council.

Inside it will say how much will be going into your bank and to which account.

No further action is required.

To find out more visit the Cornwall Council website.

What if I don’t live in Cornwall?

What you can get depends on where you live and what support is available.

Each local council receives a portion of a £421million fund handed out by the government.

It is distributed to residents based on need.

Some councils may provide direct cash payments, while others issue vouchers to help cover essentials like energy or food.

How the money is distributed will vary, so it’s important to check with your local authority.

For example, Birmingham City Council has announced £200 payments to help residents with winter costs.

Other councils, like Coventry, have offered community supermarket schemes, where households can pay £5 a week and get a basket of food worth up to £25.

However, there are changes to the scheme this time around.

Some councils have introduced monthly caps on funding, meaning once the allocated amount for the month is spent, applications are paused until the following month.

This is to ensure that everyone has a chance to receive support, but it does mean you should apply as soon as possible.

HOUSEHOLD SUPPORT FUND EXPLAINED

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains what you need to know about the Household Support Fund.

If you’re battling to afford energy and water bills, food or other essential items and services, the Household Support Fund can act as a vital lifeline.

The financial support is a little-known way for struggling families to get extra help with the cost of living.

Every council in England has been given a share of £421million cash by the government to distribute to local low income households.

Each local authority chooses how to pass on the support. Some offer vouchers whereas others give direct cash payments.

In many instances, the value of support is worth hundreds of pounds to individual families.

Just as the support varies between councils, so does the criteria for qualifying.

Many councils offer the help to households on selected benefits or they may base help on the level of household income.

The key is to get in touch with your local authority to see exactly what support is on offer.

And don’t delay, the scheme has been extended until April 2025 but your council may dish out their share of the Household Support Fund before this date.

Once the cash is gone, you may find they cannot provide any extra help so it’s crucial you apply as soon as possible.

Who’s generally eligible for the scheme?

The Household Support Fund is designed to help households in financial difficulty, particularly those on low incomes or those who don’t qualify for other forms of government assistance.

If you’re struggling to make ends meet due to rising living costs, you could be eligible for support.

The criteria you need to meet will vary depending on where you live.

You’ll likely need to prove your financial hardship when applying.

This can include showing evidence of your income, benefits or other forms of support you’re currently receiving.

For example, if you’re receiving Universal Credit or a council tax reduction, you could qualify.

But even if you’re not on benefits, you may still be able to get help if you can demonstrate financial hardship.

Do I need to apply?

Applications for the Household Support Fund are handled by your local council, and the process can vary depending on where you live.

Most councils offer online application forms, but if you need help completing an application, you can call your council’s customer service centre for assistance.

To apply, you’ll need to provide details such as your National Insurance number and may need to submit bank statements or benefit evidence.

If you’re applying for a family member or someone else, there’s also an option to upload supporting documents like benefit letters or pay slips to prove eligibility.

Some councils, such as Haringey, are issuing automatic payments to eligible residents, while others require residents to apply directly.

If you’re unsure of the process in your area, it’s best to check your local council’s website.

Are you missing out on benefits?

YOU can use a benefits calculator to help check that you are not missing out on money you are entitled to

Charity Turn2Us’ benefits calculator works out what you could get.

Entitledto’s free calculator determines whether you qualify for various benefits, tax credit and Universal Credit.

MoneySavingExpert.com and charity StepChange both have benefits tools powered by Entitledto’s data.

You can use Policy in Practice’s calculator to determine which benefits you could receive and how much cash you’ll have left over each month after paying for housing costs.

Your exact entitlement will only be clear when you make a claim, but calculators can indicate what you might be eligible for.

She was also obsessed with younger men — and he once caught her FaceTiming a 23-year-old footballer, he claimed.

He believes the reality star cheated on him with four men[/caption]

Carl, 35, said: “Twice in bed she called me another fella’s name.

“I pulled her up on it .

“She got a mental kick out of saying it and then pretending it was role play.

“She would do weird things to get into my head.”

Carl, who was engaged to the TV personality, now 46, told The Sun on Sunday he believed she cheated on him with four men.

And he said she broke her feet in a fall in Turkey as she stormed off when he confronted her about texting a Premier League star.

In the second part of our exclusive interview at his Essex home, he predicted her new relationship with reality TV star JJ Slater was doomed.

Carl, who works in a car dealership, added: “Katie’s obsessed with younger men.

“She wants to look younger so she can get younger men.

“She believes if she chases her youth by having surgery she can chase the young men.

“Her new boyfriend JJ is coming up to 32 soon so it won’t be long before he’s an old-timer.

“She met me around that age and then swapped me for a younger version when I got too old.”

They split last year, two years after he popped the question.

Mum-of-five Katie recently had her 17th boob job.

Carl said: “I told her to stop with the surgeries.

“Everyone has told her to stop with the surgeries.

“She’s had jobs booked in and her mum has called the surgeon to cancel them.”

But a spokesman for Katie hit back: “Another ex cashing in on Katie.

“For someone who didn’t want to be famous, he’s not doing a very good job at it.”

Channel 4 axes gritty drama after just one series despite good ratings and a string of gongs

CHANNEL 4 has axed hard-hitting drama The Gathering – despite good ratings and three prestigious awards.

Set on Merseyside, the six-parter featured Boiling Point’s Vinette Robinson as pushy parent Natalie, a woman determined to see her mentally fragile daughter Jessica become a star gymnast.

Executive producer Simon Heath said: “The series performed very well for Channel 4 but there are new people in charge and new priorities, meaning The Gathering won’t be coming back.”

Ten Pound Poms actor Warren Brown appeared as Paul, who was facing jail after a vicious bust-up in a park.

He won the Best Actor award at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in June for his performance, while newcomer Eva Morgan, who played Paul’s gymnast daughter, won Best Actress and the show itself picked up Best Series.

Return of the Mac to Oaks

HOLLYOAKS legend Danny Mac is making a shock comeback after a decade away.

The actor played Mark “Dodger” Savage in the Channel 4 soap between 2011 and 2015 and will now make a permanent return to the show.

Viewers will see him on screens from January when he has a dramatic reunion with the Blake family.

A source said: “Bosses are really keen to solidify the clans in the village and bringing Dodger back to reunite him with his sisters, dad and very dangerous grandmother is the cherry on top for them.

“Danny’s really excited to be back on set and he’s been promised explosive twists and turns in Dodger’s story.

“It’s a really exciting time under new boss Hannah Cheers and it was the perfect time to return.”

Dodger was last seen in the village in 2015 when his daughter Nico pushed his brother Will off a rooftop, seemingly killing him.

Dodger took the blame to try and protect Nico and fled the village for a new life on the run.

During his time on the show he was involved in some of the most controversial storylines in Hollyoaks’ history, including a reveal that he had fathered his twin sister Sienna’s daughter.

Dodger and Sienna had met as teenagers, not knowing they were related, and she went on to become pregnant.

After they reunited in later life, Sienna developed feelings for him despite knowing he was her brother — and held him hostage in an attempt to make him rekindle their relationship.

The soap has recently introduced Dodger and Sienna’s biological father Jez Blake — the twin brother of Patrick, the man they thought was their father.

Now Jez and his mother Martha have arrived in the village to head up the family — and Dodger’s return will complete the clan.

After leaving the show, Danny went on to compete in Strictly Come Dancing in 2016.

He became the first contestant in the show’s history to score full marks in the samba, before finishing as runner-up with pro partner Oti Mabuse.

He also appeared in Sky One comedy Trollied, an episode of Midsomer Murders and two episodes of BBC soap Doctors.

An impressive CV — but far less dramatic than Dodger’s exploits.

Paddy is grin bad books

PADDY McGUINNESS was all smiles yesterday after using his divorce from ex-wife Christine in a punchline.

The Bolton-born comedian grinned as he arrived at BBC Radio 2’s studio in Salford for his weekly show, despite fury over the jibe he made while opening his new comedy tour, Nearly There, last week.

The ex-Top Gear host said on stage: “Folks, we’re all here as human beings with one common goal – and that’s to help me pay for my divorce.”

Friends close to Christine, who was married to Paddy for 11 years and is mum to his three children, said she was “devastated”.

One pal added: “Christine was horrified to be a laughing stock.”

Paddy also mocked Prince Andrew and Phillip Schofield in his routine.

And spare a thought for Simon Cowell, who the comic said “has a face like a melted Caramac”.

Rachel Reeves to scrap £2 bus fare cap in ‘outright betrayal’ sparking fury amongst MPs

FURIOUS politicians last night railed against plans by Rachel Reeves to scrap the £2 bus fare cap.

The Chancellor was accused of betraying working people and slapping pensioners in the face as it emerged the cap won’t be renewed when it expires at the end of the year.

LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 23: Chancellor of the exchequer Rachel Reeves delivers her keynote speech to delegates during the Labour Party Conference 2024 at ACC Liverpool on September 23, 2024 in Liverpool, England. This is Labour's first conference since they were returned as the governing party of The UK and Northern Ireland by voters in the July election, ending 14 years of Conservative rule. They won with a landslide majority of 172 seats, and 412 in total. (Photo by Nicola Tree/Getty Images)

Conservative Party leadership candidate Robert Jenrick blasted Reeves[/caption]

Mel Stride also waded into the debate[/caption]

Tory leadership hopeful Robert Jenrick told The Sun: “If Labour knew what a working person is they’d know that more often than not they catch the bus to work.

“They’re hiking fares for working people to fund pay rises for train drivers and send foreign aid to adversaries.

“This government is on the side of everyone but our own people.”

Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride added: “If the Chancellor presses ahead with this cut it will be yet another slap in the face of our country’s pensioners.

“Labour’s scrapping of Winter Fuel Payments was an outright betrayal of their promise to protect our elderly, and now it looks like they are gearing up to betray them again by taking away their bus £2 cap – once again picking the pockets of some of our most vulnerable to fuel their profligacy.

“Be in no doubt, pensioners will never forgive Labour for this.”
Analysis for the Department for Transport, revealed by The Times, has found that keeping the cap isn’t financially sustainable for taxpayers or bus companies.

The fare cap – in place across England – is set to expire in December, having been in place since January last year.

Ms Reeves has been under pressure to extend it into 2025, with its abolition understood to have sparked a backlash within the cabinet.

Worst-hit places could see fares jump by over £10 per journey, with critics saying that scrapping the cap would drive people off public transport.

The Tory policy cost £200 million in its first ten months between January and October 2023.

The Whitehall study found that every £1 spent supporting the cap only ended in 71-90p worth of economic and social benefits.

This means it is “not financially sustainable” for taxpayers or bus operators analysis for the Department for Transport (DfT) concludes.

But scrapping the scheme at Wednesday’ “painful” Budget could still prove toxic to the Treasury.

A survey by pollsters More in Common found that 55 per cent of the public is against the move.

Meanwhile, only 28 per cent think it’s the right decision.

Policy director at Confederation of Passenger Transport Alison Edwards called the decision “catastrophic for passengers”.

Director of Policy and Research at the Campaign for Better Transport, Silviya Barrett, said: “Taking the bus shouldn’t be a financial burden and raising the cap or scrapping it entirely could leave passengers struggling to afford travel on lifeline services.”

It comes after MP Mike Amesbury had the Labour whip suspended after a video appeared to show him sucker-punching a constituent in the street.

And Sir Keir Starmer has been accused of lying to voters as it emerged “working people” will be hit in next week’s Budget.

Dr Punam and Gorka were up against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu in the dance off[/caption]

As the BBC competition continued, Dr Punam and Gorka were forced to go head-to-head with Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu to fight for their place in the show.

Re-performing their routines for the spooky-themed series, Punam and Gorka performed their Tango to Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics, before Shayne and Nancy performed a Paso Doble to In The Hall of The Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.

The judges then decided unanimously to save Shayne and Nancy.

Speaking to Tess Daly after her elimination was confirmed, Dr Punam said: “I am really proud of myself. You know I’ve taken on something that’s so out of my comfort zone.

“The one thing that I’ve very much learnt is to say yes more, and that there is no point in your life when you can stop learning new skills.”

“I’ve learnt more than dancing, I’ve learnt so much from Gorka,” she said of her partner.

“Everyone’s been so incredible and it’s just memories that I’ll take home forever and I am very proud.

“I’ve made my family very proud, I’m just really grateful.”

Speaking of her time on the series, Dr Punam said: “This is just one of those things that I have dreamt about for years and I think to have one of your dreams genuinely come true is just a surreal feeling.

“Week after week it’s been incredible, I’ve made friends for life and everyone’s just been so kind, so thank you.”

Gorka also heaped praise on his partner, telling her: “It’s been incredible, it’s been a fantastic six weeks. I’m very proud of what she has achieved.

“She’s a GP and a mum, she had never danced before and I think she improved week by week.

“I think she is truly what the show is about, someone who doesn’t have experience in the performance world came here and learnt to dance. She wanted to do so well and worked so hard.”

He also made a nod to their groundbreaking Bollywood performance from Movies Week two weeks ago, telling Tess: “I feel very proud and very honoured that  we got to do a Bollywood dance, to represent your culture, show your culture to the world and open doors for so many people in your culture.”

The pair ended their goodbyes with Dr Punam saying: “Thank you. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for giving me the gift of dancing. I’ve never danced before, but you’ve definitely sparked so much dancing.

“I want to learn more, and I definitely don’t think this will be the end of my journey dancing.”

During Sunday night’s results show, the professionals opened the evening with a Halloween-themed dance inspired by the movie Beetlejuice, with a live performance from Lady Blackbird.

Unfortunately, Amy Dowden was missing from the festivities, after collapsing backstage and being rushed to hospital after Saturday’s live show.

The pro dancer, who is partnered with JLS’s JB Gill, has just completed breast cancer treatment – was attended by paramedics at Elstree Studios before being transferred to hospital to be checked over.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Chelsea facing huge fine after becoming first Premier League team in history to break yellow card record

CHELSEA are set to be hit with a record-breaking fine after making Premier League history.

Enzo Maresca‘s side secured a 2-1 win over Newcastle on Sunday courtesy of goals from Nicolas Jackson and Cole Palmer.

And it will see Chelsea given a record-breaking fine[/caption]

However, it was the Blues’ lack of discipline which has landed them in hot water.

According to Daily Mail reporter Kieran Gill, the club’s six yellow cards against the Magpies has seen them become the first side to receive six yellow card cautions in three games in a season.

Chelsea saw Robert Sanchez, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto and Christopher Nkunku all booked during the Stamford Bridge clash.

The Prem fines clubs that do this in one match £25,000, with the penalty increasing for repeat offenders. Six teams suffered this fate last season.

Chelsea were first caught foul of the six-card threshold against Bournemouth, when they picked up eight yellow cards and were fined £25,000.

The second occasion saw them fined £50,000 as they registered six yellows against Nottingham Forest at the start of October.

And today’s six cautions have landed them a fine of £75,000, taking their total for the season up to a staggering £150,000.

Fofana and Marc Cucurella have been given the most cards of any player in the league this season, with six and five apiece.

BEST FREE BET SIGN UP OFFERS FOR UK BOOKMAKERS

Meanwhile, the 36 yellow cards they have picked up puts them seven ahead of the next worst teams, Southampton and Wolves, who have 29 each.

Despite their excessive yellow card count, Chelsea are yet to see a player shown a red this season, with Arsenal leading that list with three.

Speaking about his side’s seeming lack of discipline after the Forest draw earlier this month, Maresca said: “I like the team the way they are fighting for each other and becoming a team.

“I like the spirit of our team.”

They are currently on course to break their own unwanted record of 105 yellow cards set under Mauricio Pochettino last season.

On the game today, Maresca said: “I am very happy with the performance today because in some moments on the ball, we were unbelievable.

“There were some good combinations and the way we prepared the game was exactly there.

“Off the ball, they fought together and showed they deserved to win. This is important.”

JAMIE CARRAGHER hilariously joked Theo Walcott was recreating his famous “Thierry Henry moment” during an awkward moment on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday.

During the post-match analysis, Carragher was making a point when Walcott suddenly put a hand on his thigh.

The former Reds defender looked down and asked: “You alright there?”

The whole panel burst into laughter before Carragher added: “I thought that was a Thierry Henry moment there.”

The reference relates to a moment caught live on Sky Sports nine years ago.

The panel had learned on air that then Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers had been sacked.

Arsenal legend Henry was sat next to Carragher and could be seen putting his hand on his colleague’s thigh upon hearing the news.

The clip became a meme often used on social media to evoke shock or surprise.

And Carragher’s call-back to it with Walcott pleased a lot of fans.

Arsenal fans furious with Anthony Taylor for ‘worst decision ever seen’ to deny last-gasp winner against Liverpool

ARSENAL fans were left fuming after they were denied a late winner against Liverpool.

The Gunners have been unhappy about several refereeing decisions this season, particularly the red cards to Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard against Brighton and Manchester City respectively.

But against Liverpool they had a different gripe as they felt they were denied a legitimate goal.

The incident happened in the 90th minute as Jakub Kiwior leapt highest to head a ball forward towards Kai Havertz.

The striker also got the better of his man as he flicked the ball on before lobbing goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

But referee Anthony Taylor judged the German to have fouled Ibrahima Konate, possibly because his arms was raised.

The ball ended up in the back of the net courtesy of Gabriel Jesus after Havertz and Trent Alexander-Arnold tussled for the ball on the goal line.

However Taylor had already blown his whistle which meant the incident could not be reviewed by VAR.

Fans were outraged by the decision to award a free-kick, claiming it was never a foul by Havertz.

One fan reacted saying: “That is one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen in football. Genuinely corrupt.”

Another added: “Worst decision of the season.”

A third wrote: “Disgrace of a decision that’s the worst decision I’ve ever seen.”

And another commented: “Just not a foul is it. Great header.”

Travel chaos as major road used by thousands of drivers CLOSES sparking queues of traffic – how to avoid

DRIVERS are facing severe delays as a major road closure sparks travel chaos.

The closure on the A14 was first reported shortly before 6pm, with National Highways warning motorists that it is expected to remain in place for some time.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “The A14 in Suffolk is closed westbound between J45 (Battlies Green) and J44 (Bury St Edmunds) due to a Suffolk Police-led incident.

“Due to the nature of the incident, the road is expected to remain closed for a protracted period of time.”

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: “One lane closed due to police incident on A14 Westbound from J45 Sow Lane (Rougham) to J44 A134 (Bury Eastern Interchange / Moreton Hall). One lane has reopened following a full closure earlier.”

The following diversion route has been put in place by National Highways:

  • Exit the A14 at J47 Woolpit and follow the A1088 through Norton and Stowlangtoft to the roundabout with the A143 at Ixworth.
  • At the roundabout take the first exit and continue on the A143 e through Great Barton to rejoin the A14 westbound carriageway at J43 St Saviours.

This follows the closure of a major motorway that is heavily utilized by thousands of drivers, which was shut in both directions due to a multi-car crash.

The M3 in Hampshire closed in both directions between J9 near Winchester and J8 near Basingstoke from 7.30pm on Saturday.

National Highways said the closure was because of a “multi-vehicle collision”.

One person was hospitalised and three others were injured as ambulances arrived from 7.10pm.

Motorists were diverted and National Highways warned drivers to expect long delays.

Diversions were put in place to avoid the closures via the A34 and A303.

It is understood that the collision was caused by a driver travelling the wrong way along the carriageway.

However, National Highways announced overnight that the road had been reopened, with traffic resuming at 4am this morning.

It comes after the M5 had to be shut after a huge lorry caught fire.

HUGE BLAZE

Drivers were seen abandoning their cars in the middle of the road, with two of three lanes of the motorway closed between junction 22 at Edithmead and junction 23 at Dunball.

National Highways South West warned motorists to remain in their vehicles for safety as drivers watched thick black smoke billow into the sky.

The northbound carriageway has since reopened, but the motorway was still blocked southbound while Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue tried to put out the blaze.

In an update overnight National Highways revealed 2 out of 3 lanes remained closed on the M5 south between Junction 22 and 23.

Emergency resurfacing works were still yet to take place as a 5-mile tailback delayed drivers for an hour.

Earlier on Friday some abandoned their cars to play football on the carriageway in 9-hour queues.

Half-term in England starts this weekend until November 1, with millions of Brits going away for a break – including those hoping to get a head start on the traffic Friday morning.
