I won lottery prize but Tesco REFUSED to pay out – all I got was a meal deal… now I’m homeless living on the streets

A LOTTERY winner is facing life on the streets just weeks after a supermarket refused to pay out on his prize.

Kevin Layne, 63, was told by his local Tesco it was against policy to give him his £140 winnings.

Kevin was previously banned from his local Tesco after it refused to pay out on his Lotto win, he claims[/caption]

He instead just bought a meal deal, and claims he was ultimately banned from the store.

Now Kevin, who suffers with severe asthma, says he is at risk of becoming homeless.

His landlord served him a notice telling him to move out of the houseshare he’s lived in for three years by Friday (October 25).

The Sun understands that the landlord says he is acting perfectly lawfully.

Kevin, from Kidderminster, Worcestershire, returned to the UK four years ago after living in Thailand and China for nearly two decades.

He told the Sun: “I have no references or a permanent job, so finding alternative accommodation is virtually impossible.

“In case you’re wondering, homeless means homeless to me – I returned with a British passport and tried to support myself from day one.

“Now I face homelessness with asthma, inevitably. No paid hotel for me, just a shop doorway.”

Kevin had initially been living in Blackpool on his return to the UK, but when he was offered work in Birmingham he began renting a flat in the centre of Kidderminster.

His rent has been £100 a week ever since.

Kevin said he was given a formal notice to vacate the property or a court order will be sought.

“I’m not used to Britain, I’ve only rented two places while I’ve been back here,” Kevin said.

“One for a year and then this one for three years. I’ve tried to move to others but I can’t get anywhere because my work’s not permanent, I’ve no references, it’s like I’ve just stepped off the f***ing plane again.”

He continued: “It’s getting used to Britain and I can’t get used to it. It’s turned into a place I don’t recognise at all.”

The house share has seven renters, who share two bathrooms and a kitchen.

I have no references or a permanent job, so finding alternative accommodation is virtually impossible. In case you’re wondering, homeless means homeless to me – I returned with a British passport and tried to support myself from day one.
Now I face homelessness with asthma, inevitably. No paid hotel for me, just a shop doorway.

Kevin Layne

Kevin has approached Wyre Forest Council but says they have not provided him emergency accommodation.

“I did go and see them when it all started and they’re useless, I’ve never heard from them since,” he claims.

He understands if the landlord has to apply for a court order it could take several weeks, which will buy him some time.

“It’s depressing, I didn’t think there were things like this here. I’ll have to try and find somewhere, but at the end of the day it’s not that easy,” he said.

“I have to pay for my bank account because it’s one of those virtual ones.

“It’s all the things you have to put up with if you come back to this country. Don’t forget, I’m over 50 so I’m scrap. It’s true.”

Kevin has moved his belongings into storage.

LOTTERY

It comes after Kevin went into his local Tesco in Comberton Hill on August 13 and tried to claim his winnings from the previous Saturday’s Lotto draw, while also picking up a meal deal.

“I paid for my food and then she (the cashier) looked at the lottery ticket and said I can’t pay that, it’s too much,” he previously told The Sun.

“I said it’s £140. I said I put it on here regularly and sometimes I put it on for a month, which is £80. I also put my phone credit on which makes it £90 – sometimes I’ve gone in that shop and paid £100.

“She said you can’t bring that in here,” said Kevin, adding that he was then barred from the shop following a row.

A spokesperson for Allwyn, the National Lottery operator, said: “National Lottery retailers are required to pay out up to £100 in prize money, and up to £500 at their own discretion.”

They added: “It really depends on what Tesco’s own policy is with regards to paying out prizes over £100.”

We understand Tesco tries to pay out on prizes up to £500 where cash is available but it is dependent on how much cash is in tills.

The Sun has contacted Wyre Forest Council for comment.

The stunning dress is priced at just £14 and comes in black and white[/caption]

You’ll have to be quick if you want to snap one up though, shoppers have been raving about the stylish dress on social media so they’re sure to sell out fast.

One Primark in Basildon even called it the “dress of the year” in a TikTok video they shared showing off the garment.

It currently comes in black and white, but you could easily add a dash of colour with a bright bag and shoes.

Pair it with tights and knee high boots for a autumnal look or a some high heels and big earrings for a party look no one will forget.

The best part is the stylish dress can be yours for only £14 – so it won’t break the bank either.

Shoppers have been raving about it online, with many taking to the comment section of TikTok to boast about the garment in all it’s glory.

“I got mine today and can’t wait to wear it, obsessed,” one said.

“Imagine it with tights and knee high boots,” another said, while someone else added that the dress would look amazing with Primark’s “viral burgundy boots”.

Meanwhile, other shoppers begged the retailer to bring it out in more colours.

“Imagine this in red,” one said.

And another wanted to see a long-sleeve version of the dress hit the shelves, “I need it with long sleeves please Primark,” she wrote.

The gorgeous dress isn’t the only things shoppers have been loving in Primark right now though, fashion fans have also been scrambling to get their hands on the new jumpers that are “perfect for Christmas“.

Primark has already caused a frenzy this year with its oversized crew neck jumper which instantly sold out in four colours – burgundy, light blue, camel and light grey.

So it feels like an early Christmas gift with a brand new red jumper hitting the racks last week, as well as a black and white striped version.

Primark bosses have hailed the new releases as the “best knitted jumper for 2024”.

They added: “With an oversize slouch silhouette, this throw-on neutral knit creates an effortless look with a soft and cosy brushed effect.”

It has been designed 10% lambswool and a perfectly slouched silhouette that will look good at any outfit.

The jumper is available in sizes small, medium and large, and can even be snapped up on click and collect.

Primark's best buys for Autumn

Heading into Primark soon? Keep an eye out for these items.

Here, Fabulous fashion editor Clemmie Fieldsend reveals her top 6 buys from Primark this Autumn.

Coat, £60
I know what you’re thinking, ‘£60 for Primark?’ Yes it’s a higher price tag than we’re used to from Primark but its worth every penny.
It’s from their Edit range which is more premium than the rest of their collection and it’s made to last.
It’s a mixed wool blend which is durable and warm, plus its a timeless straight silhouette which is slightly oversized and will last you not only this season but for many after.

Bag, £16
Big bags are back… In a big way, finally.
This tote screams luxury with its croc effect and burnt orange colour, plus its great for shoving in your laptop, lunch, spare shoes, purse – essentially everything you need for the day – all for £16.

Jacket, £32
Field jackets are on the backs of celebrities and catwalk models this season with designer brands Barbour, Burberry and Bottega all championing the utilitarian look.
They’re great for chucking over jeans or contrasting with a floral or floaty dress and are the perfect transitional jacket.

Dress, £18,
You may have seen, heard and read that leopard print isn’t going anywhere for autumn, so to encapsulate the trend this dress is a must.
Sleeves? Check. Midi length? Check. Ultra flattering square neck? Check. It’s got it all.
Pair with black knee high boots or your favourite trainers for the day and dress up with gold heels and accessories for the evening.

Jeans, £16
Barrel, balloon, horseshoe – whatever you want to call them, they are the must have trouser shape of this season.
I’ve tried Primarks pair and they fit like a dream, are comfortable and flattering.
So if you think you have nothing that hits the trend mark, swapping your go-to denim for this shape will bring you bang up to date.

Boots, £24
It’s boot season and instead of feeling like you need to buy one in every colour, length, height – its best to stick to a pair that you can wear with the majority of your wardrobe.
My jaw almost hit the floor when I saw that this black, knee-high, block heel with flat point and side zip (so there’s no tug of war to get them off at the end of the day) was only £24.
If you buy one thing this season, it should be these.

Premier League release statement on controversial West Ham penalty as Man Utd and Erik ten Hag left furious at decision

THE PREMIER LEAGUE have released a statement explaining the award of West Ham’s controversial penalty against Manchester United.

Referee David Coote did not give a spot kick after Matthijs de Ligt came together with Danny Ings in the area.

A VAR review took place and Coote was instructed to view the incident on the monitor.

He did so and ended up giving the penalty, before the Premier League made comment on their Match Centre account on X, claiming there was “sufficient contact”.

They said: “The referee did not award a penalty to West Ham for a challenge by de Ligt on Ings.

“The VAR deemed there was sufficient contact on Ings’ lower leg and recommended an on-field review.

“The referee overturned his original decision and awarded a penalty.”

Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag confronted the officials after the game and looked incensed by the decision.

When asked about the controversial call, he said: “Three times this season we feel injustice.

“Unfair and unjust the way we conceded the penalty.

“It was so difficult to see. Before the season there was the instruction about VAR only interfering in clear and obvious mistakes.

“That is definitely not a clear and obvious mistake from the on field referee.

“More frustrations but I can do nothing with that. They don’t collect points and that’s what we have to do.

“We have to look in the mirror, we don’t score in a good game from our side. Create loads of chances and concede none but when you lose in this way it’s a bad feeling.”

Asked whether he had talked to the officials, he added: “I spoke with them. But the decision is made. There’s no way back and that’s football.

“That’s a third time I have felt injustice in the season and it has a big impact on our team and on our scores and where we are in the table. It’s not right.”

Man Utd ratings vs West Ham

THE LONDON STADIUM was the venue for the latest defeat in a shocker of a season.

To be fair, it was a hugely controversial VAR call in the dying moments that handed West Ham a 2-1 win.

And the first half from the Red Devils was impressive.

Here’s how SunSport’s Jack Rosser rated the players…

Andre Onana – 6
Very loose with the ball at his feet early on but soon settled.

Manchester United conceded from West Ham’s first shot on target, though given Ings’ deflected strike there was little Onana could have done about it.

Diogo Dalot – 5
Delivered one of the most entertaining missed chances you will see all season – doing so well to clip the ball past Lukasz Fabianski before smashing the ball high and wide of an open goal.

Despite that, had little trouble from those in claret and blue attacking down his side until Summerville was introduced. The former Leeds man tested Dalot a number of times with his pace.

Redeemed himself a touch with the header back in ahead of Casemiro’s equaliser.

Matthijs de Ligt – 6
Hard done by in conceding the penalty for what looked a soft challenge on Hammers striker Ings.

Restricted West Ham well for the most part but United never looked entirely comfortable at the back and a more potent attack could have caused much more trouble.

Lisandro Martinez – 6
Struggled at times to deal with the strength and direct nature of Michail Antonio, who tested all across United’s back line well until he was replaced by Ings.

Noussair Mazraoui – 5
Struggled to keep a handle on both Bowen and former Manchester United man Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the most part and was thrown around by Michail Antonio at times.

Having looked soft at the back he also offered very little going forwards down the left.

Casemiro – 6
Started strongly dominating in the middle but struggled to wrestle that back when West Ham picked up.

Was denied a first half goal by Fabianski’s superb save but got one eventually as he refused to give up and made sure the ball.

Christian Eriksen – 5
Some flashes of creativity in the first half but could not help United keep control in the second after West Ham perked up.

Marcus Rashford – 4
Entirely absent throughout the hour he was on the pitch. Played down the right he was easily managed by Emerson Palmieri who had little of note to do before the winger went off.

Bruno Fernandes – 7
Caused huge problems for West Ham and created plenty of chances which his teammates put to waste.

Fernandes made a fine run to meet a Casemiro cross but headed over the bar and had to watch both Garnacho and Dalot pass up huge chances after his good work to set them up – especially the latter, a wonderful looped ball to cut out the entire West Ham defence.

Alejandro Garnacho – 5
The young winger should have had two goals inside the opening eight minutes. One chance was rattled against the bar before a poor finish sent the second wide of the far post.

He continued to cause trouble down the left but faded as the game went on and crucially gave the ball away in the build-up to Summerville’s goal.

Rasmus Hojlund – 5
Drew a couple of saves from Hammers keeper Fabianski but neither looked too difficult.

The Dane was rather comfortably dealt with by West Ham’s central defenders and never looked too much of a threat.

Substitutes
Amad Diallo – 6
Added some life and threat to a forward line which had offered little after the break and lifted a clever ball over to Dalot in the build-up to Casemiro’s goal.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5
Claimed an assist but did not know a lot about it and struggled to have an impact from there on.

Victor Lindelof – n/a

Unused subs: Altay Bayindir, Manuel Ugarte, Jonny Evans, Ethan Wheatley, Harry Amass, Jack Fletcher.

Many fans had similar feelings about the decision as they took to social media to vent their frustration.

One said: “That’s a disgrace. The game is gone, I can’t believe I witnessed this being given as a penalty.”

Another added: “Not enough for a penalty. Contact not sufficient. Shouldn’t even have gone to the VAR. United robbed!”

A third replied: “Manchester United were robbed in my opinion. Not a penalty.”

While a fourth responded: “VAR HAS MADE AN ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE MISTAKE!”

The result lifts West Ham above Man Utd into 13th place, one spot above Ten Hag’s men who are already seven points adrift of a Champions League place.

Katie Price shows off her THREE Sphynx cats after being slammed by charity for buying more animals

KATIE Price has shared new pictures of her adorable sphynx cats in a defiant post after being criticised by animal charities.

The 46-year-old star is a long-standing animal lover, but charities have begged her to stop buying pets alleging she doesn’t look after them properly.

The three sphinx cats can cost up to £800 each[/caption]

Adding three hairless cats to her collection in September, with each pet costing up to £800 a pop, despite being embroiled in ongoing bankruptcy issues.

On Instagram, Katie shared the three pets all bundled up asleep together on a fluffy blanket, calling them “her three wrinkles” due to their distinctive baggy skin.

Katie has been doting on the trio, even taking them for walks in a pram since she got them.

Her post comes after charity PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) called for the need for an injunction to be put in place, stopping the mum-of-five from owning pets.

They had previously offered Katie £5,000 to stop buying pets, which she has not responded to.

PETA UK founder Ingrid Newkirk told The Sun: “If there was a way to file an injunction to stop this serial animal killer, PETA would do so, as this woman doesn’t care about the lives she wastes or listen to vital advice and is still treating live animals like stuffed toys: as disposable.

“If William Hill took totally tasteless bets, the odds would favour those betting on how little time this kitten has on Earth, given the hideous track record of animal deaths in Price’s custody. No one could call it ‘care’.”

The new additions to the family come just a few months after she revealed she had to put down her last “designer” cat, Frog, after being diagnosed with a neurological disease.

She had bought Frog in February for £1,200, naming him in a sweet tribute to her son, Harvey, who loves frogs, but came under fire months later when she shared a video of the pet wrestling with a dog.

Katie had eight pets die in just six years – including four dogs and a horse all getting hit by cars.

She has also given away pets, including an out-of-control Alsatian called Bear for attacking other animals.

At the beginning of the year, Katie gave away a puppy called Tank because he ‘no longer looked cute on Instagram’.

She also currently has a pet pug, named Captain, and avidly looks after horses.

Earlier this week, Katie came under further fire by posting with a greyhound she referred to as “hers” – which many took exception to for the “cruel” nature of the sport.

Jake Paul relationship history: Boxer and YouTube sensation’s ex-girlfriends revealed

JAKE Paul knows has been in more than his fair share of high-profile relationships over the years.

He’s taking on Iron Mike Tyson in a highly-anticipated showdown on November 15, 2024 — here we take a look at Jake’s ex-lovers, as well as who he is currently dating.

Who has Jake Paul dated?

Jutta Leerdam

Jake Paul is currently in a relationship with ‘the world’s hottest speed skater’ Jutta Leerdam[/caption]

Jake Paul and Dutch athlete Jutta Leerdam announced their relationship in early April 2023.

Taking to Instagram on April 4, the 27-year-old influencer turned YouTube boxer shared a series of loved-up snaps.

Paul even posted a pic with his girlfriend and captioned it “I’m Dutch now”.

Jutta, nicknamed the “world’s hottest speedskater” by the media, has won multiple titles.

She competed in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China, where she won a silver medal in the Women’s 1,000-meter race.

The sports star also placed fifth in the women’s 500-meter race.

It was Leerdam’s first time competing in the Olympics.

In March 2022, she earned the Women’s Sprint title at the 2022 World Speed Skating Championships in Hamar, Norway.

Jutta was first linked to Jake when they packed on the PDA during a dinner date in Miami a week before going public.

Captioning the pictures, Jake wrote: “I’m Dutch now.”

Jutta, 25, also took to her social media and shared pictures of the pair, with the caption: “That’s it.”

She also wrote a supportive message for her beau on the platform reading: “I’m so so proud of you.

“You have only been doing this sport for 3.5 years and make the biggest fights happen.

“You inspire me so much with your work ethic, the way you think big, and your crazy determination.”

Julia Rose

Julia Rose previously dated Jake Paul[/caption]

Born in New Orleans on December 30, Julia Rose is a model, podcast creator and founder of an erotic magazine.

She and Jake went Instagram official with their romance in February 2020.

They met on the set of his music video for These Days and, at the time, Jake said he’d be keeping their relationship private.

During an appearance on The Night Shift podcast, he said “I have been talking to a girl a little bit” — but didn’t say the girl was.

Jake and Julia had a rocky 2020 — the two allegedly split in early spring 2020, but by April Julia confirmed they were together again.

However, in 2021 they split up again.

Speaking to ET Online, at the time Jake said: “I was getting mad at her and then I was being mean, and she was being mean, and then it just was a lot. So she was like, ‘I need to step back from this’.”

Jake described how he “chased” after her to convince her to get back together, even renting a $2,000 billboard to get her attention.

In March 2022, Jake and Julia split up once again.

Sources told PageSix: “Paul has been out and about in Miami telling pals that he and Rose are indeed done” and that “he’s devastated”.

They added: “He would like to get back together with her and maybe they will, but they both need to slow down their lives.

Jake and Rose soon got back together, but seemingly ended things around December 2022, when Paul posted a pic with a flower in his mouth, saying “Picked the wrong Rose”.

They later unfollowed each other on Instagram.

But they briefly got back together one more time in 2023, before finally calling time on their on-and-off relationship for good.

Tana Mongeau

Tana Mongeau once exchanged wedding vows with Jake Paul[/caption]

Tana Mongeau is another YouTuber who models and creates music.

It was a romance that benefitted both parties.

YouTubers Jake and Tana began their courtship in 2019, and it was all lived out online.

Jake proposed to Tana on her 21st birthday in June 2019, and the couple “exchanged vows” a month later.

Fans were suspicious of the legitimacy of the marriage, and both Jake and Tana later admitted it was a prank.

She told her 5.2 million YouTube followers on the day of their wedding that she did not want to make it legally binding because it was “unnecessary” and “takes away the love”.

Tata also stated the wedding was something “fun and lighthearted that we’re obviously doing for fun and for content.”

And Jake told ET Online: “We all do things sometimes… And sometimes you end up getting fake married. So I’ll leave it at that.”

It wasn’t the first time he has staged a fake wedding.

Erika Costell

Erika Costell created a song with Jake Paul[/caption]

Erika Costell is a model, singer and YouTuber who started dating Jake in early June 2017.

In June 2017, the couple posted a YouTube video that seemed to show them getting married — it has over 33.6million views.

The following month the couple released a song about their relationship called Jerika, which reached number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Erika also has a song featuring Jake called Chitty Bang, released in 2018.

Over the years, the YouTube boxer’s filmed pranks have gone viral — some causing controversy.

One particular incident violated YouTube’s strict age-restriction policies in a vlog titled ‘I lost my virginity’ back in 2018.

The video featured an explicit thumbnail showing a semi-nude photo of Jake and Erika on top of each other.

YouTube clamped down on the clip and made it age-restricted, while Jake was also slammed for sharing inappropriate content with his young and impressionable audience.

As a result, Paul was forced to change the thumbnail to a more PC image of him and Costell clothed and not touching each other.

The pair split in late 2018.

Tessa Brooks

Tessa Brooks is best known as a dancer[/caption]

Tessa Brooks also dated Jake in 2017.

She is a dancer, actress and model who has worked with brands including Skechers and Coca-Cola.

As a dancer, she’s performed for Disney’s Next Big Thing, The Pulse on Tour, and other live events.

In a 2018 YouTube video which has since been made private, Tessa addressed her split from Jake, saying: “It’s a really bittersweet thing for me because I am thinking of what it once was for me.

“It’s a really sucky thing, it is what it is. You have to know when to let go.

“We’ve grown apart and we’re heading in different directions and that’s totally OK. It’s not something that is right for me anymore.

“We just disagree on a lot of things. Things just aren’t how they used to be.”

Alissa Violet

Alissa Violet accused Jake Paul of mental abuse[/caption]

Alissa Violet is also an American YouTuber, model and actress.

She and Jake dated between 2016 and 2017, but at the end of their relationship Alissa accused him of mental and emotional abuse.

She said: “Honestly, he did assault me a few times. If we never agreed on something or something would happen, he would spit on my face and this happened multiple times.

“About two years ago in Arizona, we were filming a video and he had a part where he had to shove me into like this bush [with] thorns.

“So he pushed me way too hard and shoved me all the way in the bush.

“This scar [on my arm] was from thorns and my entire arm was bleeding, he was laughing the whole time, I was crying.

“Another time, he took my phone and threw it at the wall, We got into a fight, I ran upstairs and he dragged me down the stairs.”

Alissa has also dated YouTuber FaZe Banks.

Saxon Sharbino’s relationship with Jake goes way back to 2014.

She is an actress who has starred mostly in horror movies.

The majority of their relationship was off-camera, meaning not too much is known about what went on between them.

In 2017, however, Saxon filmed a video with Jake titled A Conversation With My Ex-Girlfriend where they reminisced about their relationship.

“Odds on tournament favourite he maybe. But Luke Humphries as you can see is far from happy with the conditions, claiming that there’s a breeze on stage. But it’s not a problem for Jermaine Wattimena.”
