World’s fattest cat Crumbs who weighed 38lbs dies after years of biscuits & soup diet despite losing weight at fat camp
THE world’s fattest cat has tragically died just weeks after going to a feline fat camp to shed some weight.
Crumbs once tipped the scales at over 38lbs due to a dodgy diet of biscuits and soup – making him larger than a small toddler at his biggest.
The world’s fattest cat Crumbs has tragically died just weeks after going to a feline fat camp to shed some weight[/caption]The flabby cat, named Kroshik in his native Russia, was placed under special care at a veterinary diet centre in Perm so they could work on his weight.
But doctors say he suddenly became ill overnight on Saturday and passed away just hours later.
His death was announced on social media through a touching post.
It said: “Kroshik passed away last night. This news echoes with a ringing emptiness in the heart.
“Yesterday Kroshik suddenly became ill. He began to choke.
“Until that moment, the doctors had never noticed signs of shortness of breath in him.
“We acted immediately – in half an hour Kroshik was already in the oxygen chamber.
“Gradually, his condition began to deteriorate and even the resuscitation efforts of the doctors could not help him.
“Dying, he was not alone. Until his very last breath, the best doctors fought for his life.”
Crumbs’ cause of death is yet to be announced but vets said he had “multiple growths in the spleen and metastases in other internal organs”.
Animal rescuers first found Crumbs living in the basement of the hospital in Perm.
First dubbed “too big to walk” the monster moggy managed to shed 2.2lbs in just a few weeks on his diet plan.
Clinic vets told local media his weight loss programme was aimed at helping him lose excess fluid and increasing his physical activity.
It included hydrotherapy, massage and stretching up to four times a week.
Pictures showed him being put through his paces on a treadmill and placed in a water tank to ease the strain on his leg joints due to his extreme weight.
Sometimes miracles do not happen. Sometimes even the strongest cats cannot cope
Crumbs' careers
Despite the impressive weight loss journey, Crumbs was caught trying to escape the centre last month.
During his escape, the cat got stuck in a shoe rack with his belly hanging out.
The giant cat became a worldwide celebrity for its sheer size over the past years with thousands keeping up with Crumbs’ recovery.
His carers left a heartfelt tribute following the cat’s death saying: “For a long time, we could not understand the reason for such incredible popularity of Kroshik, because we did nothing to somehow attract the media to the story.
“Later we realised people from all over the world are so tired of bad news.
“We rejoiced with you at every victory of Kroshik and cherished his every step.
“Sometimes miracles do not happen. Sometimes even the strongest cats cannot cope.”
What is the ideal weight for a cat?
A CAT'S weight depends on its breed and age.
Health conditions and gender also have a bearing – with tom cats usually slightly larger than females.
According to the Blue Cross, you can see if your cat is overweight by just looking at it.
If you cannot see or feel their ribs then they are probably overweight.
However, if their ribs are clearly visible with not even a small amount of fat covering them then they are underweight.
The average moggy should have a small amount of fat covering their ribs.
You should be able to feel the ribs and spine when stroking their backs.
An average healthy puss should weigh between 3.6 to 4.5 kilograms, around 8-10lbs.
Larger breeds can hit 11lbs or 5kg.
If you have a Maine coon, these can weigh up to 25lbs or 11kg.
If you are worried about your pet’s size, then get advice from a vet.

Wayne Rooney reveals nine-word message to Plymouth stars that inspired stunning comeback from being 3-0 down
WAYNE ROONEY revealed his nine-word message that inspired Plymouth to their stunning comeback.
Rooney saw his Pilgrims fall 2-0 behind at home to Preston in the first half on Saturday.
Wayne Rooney revealed how he motivated his Plymouth stars to their comeback[/caption]Then things got even worse when North End grabbed a third three minutes after half-time.
But Plymouth came roaring back.
They got their first on 55 minutes and equalised in the 82nd minute.
Then Home Park erupted in the second minute of injury time when Morgan Whittaker fired into the back of the net.
He appeared to hobble off during his celebration but the home fans didn’t care as they celebrated a simply incredible effort from their team.
And Rooney revealed his half-time rocket was enough of a threat to fire his stars into action – but not until they conceded the third.
He said: “I told them you’ve got five minutes otherwise I’m making five changes.
“And then we went three goals down.”

But despite the impressive fighting spirit, Rooney was still not happy with what he saw.
He added to Sky Sports: “I am angry because that performance is nowhere near good enough. We were easy to play against. Obviously I am pleased we drew the game but I can’t accept that performance.
“I am frustrated but even at 3-0 you can turn a game and I tried to get more attackers into the box, but we didn’t do that at first.
“The last three games we have hit a bit of a blip but we need to get out of it. The one thing I never question with the players is their character. We need to learn the little nuances of the game.
“It could have been worse if it wasn’t for Dan (Grimshaw, goalkeeper). I felt for him today because of how easy it was for them to get through us and get shots off. It was schoolboy defending really.
“I think the fans had every right to boo at half-time but then when they saw us pushing and making changes and getting more balls in the box you could feel the atmosphere growing. I was delighted for them we got a point.”
Plymouth sit 21st in the Championship table, one point and one place above the relegation zone with three wins and three draws from 12 matches.
Their last victory came when Whittaker again struck in injury time to grab a last-gasp winner against Blackburn – after Rooney had already been sent off.

ARSENAL showed their set-piece prowess once more with a stunning free-kick routine against Liverpool.
Declan Rice delivered the perfect ball for Mikel Merino to power a header home at the Emirates on Sunday evening.
Declan Rice swung in a sumptuous free-kick[/caption] https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1850587742322724900It was the Spanish midfielder’s first goal for the club as Arsenal regained the lead to go into half-time 2-1 in front.
It came as a result of the Arsenal players positioning themselves late in the box after arriving from wide on the left of the area.
Rice had also threatened with his delivery beforehand, troubling Liverpool‘s back line with wicked dead-ball crosses as the Arsenal attackers took up similar positions.
Fans hailed the set piece details – which are the work of designated coach, Nicolas Jover – Mikel Arteta‘s secret weapon.
One social media user said: “Rice’s free-kicks have been devilish.”
Another added: “That free-kick routine was a goal coming. We were warned before.”
A third replied: “Deep how insane that is. Showed the set-piece coach for like a minute and then we go on to score the free kick. Love it ”
While a fourth responded: “Forget any player, if I could make one signing in world football it would be Arsenal’s set-piece coach.

Nicolas Jover, left, has been praised for his role as Arsenal’s set-piece coach[/caption]“Every corner and free-kick they get is just as dangerous as a penalty.”
Arsenal’s set-piece coach Jover joined Arteta in North London from Manchester City in 2021.
They have now scored 24 set-piece goals in the Premier League since the start of last season, more than any other club.
Seven of those have come in just nine league games at the beginning of the 2024/25 campaign.
Bukayo Saka had given Arsenal the lead with a brilliant strike, before Virgil van Dijk levelled with a header.
Netflix fans coin Don’t Move as ‘thriller of the year’ as ‘terrifying’ movie lands on streaming service
NETFLIX fans have been left gripped by a new thriller movie they’re calling one of their favourites of the year.
Don’t Move, a new film from producer Sam Raimi, tracks the story of Iris (played by Yellowstone’s Kelsey Asbille), a woman who finds herself in a dire situation in the middle of the forest of Big Sur, California.
Kelsey Asbille is in big trouble in Big Sur[/caption] The thriller sees one woman fighting for her life[/caption]Grieving the loss of her son, Mateo, she encounters a man called Richard (American Horror Story’s Finn Wittrock) who offers her comfort in a time of need.
But just when she decides to head home, Richard tasers her, ties her up and injects her with a substance that gives her just 20 minutes before her entire body will shut down.
Now she’s on a race against time to get to safety as the drug slowly begins to paralyse her and shut her down, stopping her being able to scream and over time, move.
But as she goes on the run, Richard isn’t far behind her and is ready to make her his latest victim.
The 92-minute movie has proven a hit with viewers, with Don’t Move shooting to number one on Netflix within days of its release.
Sharing their feelings on X, one fan wrote: “Prepare yourself for an intense one if you plan to watch From the beginning until the end. Whew terrifying.”
“This is what I was expecting when I saw the trailer. One and a half hour of pure suspense and tension,” another wrote, adding: “Kinda predictable but overall, an engaging thriller.”
Another agreed with the sentiment and said: “#DontMove was a tense watch.. Beautifully shot with good performances. Wouldn’t have minded to be put through the emotional wringer a bit more, but it was consistently engaging.”
A third said: “#DontMove is an instant masterpiece by none other than Sam Raimi. Filled with spectacular shots & intense/grotesque scenes with an epic ending. Must watch!”
“Don’t Move on Netflix is exactly why women would choose a bear lmao,” joked a fourth, in a reference to the viral question ‘would you choose to run into a bear or a man if you’re alone in the woods?’
“you know what… #DontMove on Netflix is actually very good! if you’re looking for something to watch… add it in your list tbh,” said another.
The sleeper hit comes as Netflix drops some of its most anticipated films of the year – most notably Anna Kendrick’s Woman Of The Hour.
The Pitch Perfect star’s directorial debut follows the true crime story of Rodney Alcala, a Los Angeles serial killer in the 1970s who shot to notoriety after being caught, when it was discovered he was once a contestant on The Dating Game (the US equivalent of Blind Date).
The movie follows the unlucky ‘bachelorette’ who meets him as a result of the show, and her awkward interactions with him after picking him to go on a date with.
Don’t Move is available now on Netflix.

Who is Mike Tyson’s wife Lakiha Spicer and does boxing legend have kids with her?
MIKE Tyson is always in the conversation about the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Now approaching 60, the boxing legend is taking on YouTube pretender Jake Paul on November 15, 2024 — here we get to know his third wife Lakiha Spicer.
Mike Tyson has been married to Lakiha Spicer since 2009[/caption] Lakiha met Mike when she was 18, but they didn’t tie the knot until she was 32[/caption]Who is Lakiha Spicer?
Lakiha Spicer was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 11, 1977,
She comes from an African-American Muslim family, with her father, Shamsud-Din Ali, being a prominent religious leader and boxing enthusiast.
Lakiha is an entrepreneur, author, business owner and the third wife of former world heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.
She operates a clothing boutique and co-wrote The Undisputed Truth, a show based on Mike’s life, which premiered in August 2012 and won two awards.
Meeting Mike
Lakiha, or Kiki as she’s known, met Mike in 1998 when she was 18 years old and Mike was 28.
Don King introduced the pair to each other after one of his fights.
But Mike’s then-promoter warned Kiki to stay away from the boxer.
The couple embarked an on-and-off relationship in the early 2000s while Mike was still married to his second wife Monica Turner.
Prison sentence
In 2008, Kiki was convicted for defrauding £60,000 from a company owned by her father.
She served a six-month prison sentence for fraud and conspiracy charges related to the money-laundering scheme.
Kiki went into prison pregnant with ‘Iron’ Mike‘s baby — she discovered she was with child a week before being sent down.
Addiction
She came out to find the former world heavyweight champ addicted to drugs.
Kiki managed to wean Mike off his addictions, however, something he credits her with.
“I’m very happy me and my wife got together, because I don’t know how I would have survived out there”, he told US magazine People.
Without my wife, I’m a savage animal
Mike Tyson
They tied the knot on June 9, 2009, marking the beginning of Mike’s third marriage.
Kiki and her husband are approaching their 15th wedding anniversary in 2024, making this the boxer’s longest-lasting marriage.
Kids
Kiki and Mike have two children together — a daughter called Milan, born in 2009, and a son named Morocco Elijah, born in 2011.
The 58-year-old also has other children with different women: Mikey Lorna, Rayna, Amir and Miguel.

Impact
Kiki has played a crucial role in Mike’s personal growth and stability.
Their marriage has outlasted the heavyweight’s previous two, and he has credited his third wife with helping him turn his life around.
In 2020, Tyson told ExpediTIously: “Without my wife, I’m a savage animal…
“I look at women differently as I get older. When I was younger, I viewed them as pleasure.
Mike believes he would ‘kill himself’ without his wife[/caption]“Now that I’m older, I look at them as the half.
“It makes me realise that I’m a man. And at this stage in my life, they’re my teachers.
“If a man doesn’t have a little bit of fear of his wife, he’s not living his life right.”
The boxing legend continued: “That’s why I got married three times… because I can’t live without a wife.
“If I don’t have a wife, I’ll kill myself. That’s real talk.
“I need somebody to listen to. I’m a soldier. I can’t think on my own, I need somebody to do it… I know myself.”
Huge Arsenal blow as Gabriel Magalhaes forced off in Liverpool clash to deepen defensive crisis
GABRIEL MAGALHAES has become the latest Arsenal player to fall foul of injury.
The defender was forced off the pitch during the Sunday afternoon clash between the Gunners and Liverpool at the Emirates.
Gabriel is the latest Arsenal injury set to cause Mikel Arteta a headache[/caption]Mikel Arteta’s defensive options had already been depleted with injuries to Riccardo Calafiori, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kieran Tierney and the suspension of William Saliba.
However, following a second-half tussle with Darwin Nunez, Gabriel appeared to feel something and was then seen grimacing.
He then fell to floor in pain before receiving treatment to try and help him to carry on.
But it proved to be ineffective, and Gabriel was taken off through injury in the 54th minute and replaced by Jakub Kiwior.
The knock was reported to be a knee injury sustained after it was jolted during his duel with Nunez.
Footage of Gabriel while receiving treatment saw him holding his left knee, seemingly confirming this assessment as the club doctor also checked for a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury.
He was able to walk off the pitch and down the tunnel, but could now face weeks on the sideline.
If Gabriel has suffered an MCL injury, then the amount of time he will miss will depend on the grade of the blow.
A grade 1 issue will heal within 1-3 weeks while a grade 2 could take between four and six weeks and a grade 3 will take at least six with proper treatment.
Jurrien Timber then added to these problems when he was replaced for Myles Lewis-Skelley in the 75th minute after the Dutchman was also forced to the floor with injury and received treatment.
While Arteta will see the return of Saliba following his one-game suspension, Calafiori, Tomiyasu and Tierney remain out.
Arsenal have also been dealing with knocks to Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka before the Liverpool game.
However, star player Saka was deemed fit enough to play before he opened the scoring with a vicious close-range shot after ten minutes.
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk scored from a set-play to level the score.
But the hosts responded with a free-kick of their own as Declan Rice’s superb free-kick was headed home by Mikel Merino shortly before half-time, and then confirmed following a lengthy VAR check for offside.
More to follow.

Alexandra Burke reveals she was asked to ‘bleach her skin’ during ‘really hard time’ after winning the X Factor
ALEXANDRA Burke has revealed she was asked to ‘bleach her skin’ by industry bosses after her X Factor win.
The singer-turned-actress shot to fame when she took part in the fifth series of the now-axed ITV show in 2008.
Alexandra Burke has revealed she was asked to ‘bleach her skin’ after shooting to fame following her X Factor win[/caption] Last month Alexandra told fans how she and footballer boyfriend Darren had got engaged[/caption]Alexandra‘s incredible vocals and personality ultimately saw her scoop the X Factor crown as she released her winner’s single Hallelujah.
However, now 36, the star has revealed she was exposed to the brutality of the music industry following her win.
Alexandra has revealed top bosses asked her to ‘bleach her skin’ and was ordered not to braid her hair.
Looking back, she explained how it was “really hard” for her to experience microaggressions at such a young age.
She told The Mirror: “I did speak up about it on my Instagram a couple of years ago, and done a random 15 minute video on it. And I’m so pleased I did speak up about it, because a lot of people didn’t know what I’d gone through.
“It gave other people the courage to speak up about their own experiences, to whatever work space they’ve been involved in, not necessarily within the music industry but other people what they’ve been through, and speaking up about their own experiences.”
Alexandra – who went on to release three smash-hit studio albums – added that she “can’t change the past”.
“I have to let things go and I know my heart and I know what I’m about and what I represent,” she said.
After appearing in West End musical Sister Act, Alexandra landed her first role in brand new drama Curfew earlier this year.
The show is based on Jayne Cowie’s novel After Dark, which is set in a world where all men live under the “Women’s Safety Act” and are bound by a curfew.
Alexandra stars as a local teacher and close pal of Sarah’s police officer character.
Meanwhile, she was recently left stunned as her Middlesbrough goalkeeper boyfriend Darren, 37, got down on one knee during a romantic dinner.
Their engagement comes three years after they first started dating, with the pair already having two young children together.
