Fears Iran will unleash Hezbollah ‘sleeper cells’ of fanatics in UK & US in bloody revenge move after Israel’s strike

IRAN could unleash its sleeper cells of fanatics in the West after Israel’s “significant” planned strike, a former Brit commander has warned.

Colonel Richard Kemp, who led Brit forces in Afghanistan, told The Sun it’s “real danger” that will soon become a reality when Tehran and its proxies decide to act.

Hundreds of Hezbollah fighters were injured after their pagers exploded in Lebanon in an Israeli attack to decapitate the terror group[/caption]

He said Iran and Hezbollah could “activate” sleeper cells across Europe to launch attacks against the UK and US when they decide the time is right.

Israel is plotting revenge after Iran launched an unprecedented blitz – launching a salvo of nearly 200 ballistic missiles at the country earlier this month.

Tehran launched the attack after Israel wiped out Hassan Nasrallah – the chief of Hezbollah, Iran’s biggest – and most powerful – terror proxy.

Iran is now bracing for an Israeli reprisal – expected to be a significant strike.

But Colonel Kemp warned that Iran could respond to the next attack with its global network of sleeper cells – overseen by the fanatical Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

These types of attacks may include car bomb attacks outside Israeli embassies – carried out by Iran-backed terrorists such as Hezbollah.

Although Hezbollah’s leadership has been wiped out in Lebanon, the terror organisation has sleeper cells elsewhere – including in Europe, Colonel Kemp said.

He told The Sun: “Hezbollah and its IRGC sponsors have a massive network, in many, many countries. That network does a number of things.

“It provides funding for Hezbollah – there are fundraising operations here in the UK and other countries in Europe that raise funds and get them to Hezbollah.

“But there is also a network of sleeper cells inside European countries – including here in the UK – which have been established for a long time.

“They will be activated at the right moment when Hezbollah or the IRGC decide that’s the time to do so.”

Colonel Kemp said Iran’s sleeper cells of terror proxies exist to “act as a deterrent” for some form of Western attack on Iran – and also for retaliation purposes.

He said: “Without a doubt, if Hezbollah is allowed to continue to exist in some form – in a dangerous form – then its primary purpose will be to to retaliate or to deter and, if necessary, retaliate against attacks on Iran by either the US or by Israel.

“If Israel does carry out a severe attack against Iran, Iran is largely defenceless in terms of its retaliation capacity.

“It’s possible they could revert to, attacks elsewhere outside Israel using the sleeper cells they have in place – whether it be to carry out car bomb attacks against Israeli embassies.

“They could attempt that – and that potentially presents a wider threat which, which could impact this country just as much as it could on any other country.

“It’s a danger we should bear in mind – an Israeli attack which Iran is unable to retaliate to.”

The People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) – an opposition group which advocates the overthrow of the regime – has warned that Tehran’s network of sleeper cells are “not only ready but functioning”.

Bloody operations linked to Iran have previously reached deep into Europe and the US – all working on orders from the very top of Tehran.

In 2015, MI5 busted a Hezbollah sleeper cell that was massing huge amounts of explosives on the outskirts of London.

Last year, a deadly shipment of uranium was seized at Heathrow Airport in the UK – believed to have been destined for Iranian nationals based in the country.

It’s possible they could revert to, attacks elsewhere outside Israel using the sleeper cells they have in place

It is feared it could have been part of a plot to build a dirty bomb or stage an assassination.

In the US last year, a New Jersey software engineer was jailed for 12 years for his role as a “sleeper agent” in an elite Hezbollah unit.

Iran’s network has carried out terror attacks or major terrorist operations in the West, including in the UK, France, Germany, Belgium and Italy.

Two Iranian nationals were held last year over a terror plot to use cyanide and ricin in Germany.

And in 2021 an Iranian diplomat was convicted in Belgium for being part of a terrorist plot to blow up an event hosted by a dissident group in Paris.

The conference was being attending by five British MPs.

All of these are overseen by the military group known as the Quds Force, watched over by the powerful IRGC.

The Quds Force – once headed by General Qassem Soleimani before he was blown up by the US in 2020 – reports directly to the supreme leader of fundamentalist regime, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

a map showing iran has been linked to plots across europe and the middle east

It is estimated the force is up to 20,000 strong and is understood to be responsible for supporting and training proxy groups worldwide.

In 2022, MI5 chief Ken McCallum named Iran as a major security threat to the UK – and said there were 10 foiled plots to kidnap or kill people in Britain that year.

Earlier this month, German newspaper Der Spiegel said a number of Iran-backed terror plots targeting Jews and Israeli-linked businesses in Europe have been foiled by security services this year.

According to the report, the foiled attacks – planned for 2024 – involved a network recruited by Tehran to conduct surveillance on Jewish and Israeli targets in Germany.

In May this year, Iran International reported that Israeli and Swedish Intelligence agencies warned about Iran using criminal networks in Europe to carry out a string of attacks on Israeli embassies.

Israel has reportedly delayed its revenge strike against Iran after potentially sensitive military intel about the plot was leaked.

The alleged documents, marked as “top secret”, are said to contain US intelligence analysing Israel’s inevitable retaliation plan against Iran.

Parts of the leaked document, dated October 15 and 16, reportedly contain satellite imagery appearing to show Israel’s preparation of munitions and military drills.

Others describe the assessment of the Israeli Air Force exercising long-range ballistic and air-to-surface missiles – believed to be planned for a potential strike against Iran.

Everyone who dreamed a year ago of beating us and attacking us paid a heavy price and are no longer in that dream

Yoav GallantIsrael's Defence Minister

The documents suggest Israel was conducting covert surveillance on Iran using advanced drone technology.

The Sun is not directly quoting or showing the information from the leaked documents.

But according to The Times, Israel has been forced to come up with an alternative plan to strike Iran after the leak.

Senior US officials privately acknowledged the docs were authentic – but suggested they were not a comprehensive assessment of Israel’s full retaliation plan against Iran.

The leaked documents have markings that indicate they are only meant to be seen by the US and its Five Eyes – Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

But the documents began circulating in Telegram after being posted by an account called Middle East Spectator.

Visiting an air base earlier this month, Israel’s Defence Minister Yoav Gallant vowed: “Everyone who dreamed a year ago of beating us and attacking us paid a heavy price and are no longer in that dream.”

Why a lesser-known European city with cheap booze has been named a trending travel destination for 2025

A LESSER-KNOWN city in Bulgaria has been named a trending destination for 2025 by Lonely Planet.

Earlier this week, travel giant Lonely Planet named the 10 best cities to visit next year as part of its Best in Travel 2025 series.

While none in the UK made the cut, there were a number from Europe that did feature, including Bansko in Bulgaria.

Located at the foot of the Pirin Mountains in southwestern Bulgaria, Bansko is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes.

Ellie Sugareva, who is the Team Manager for Bulgaria at Crystal Ski Holidays, wasn’t surprised to see Bansko as a trending destination.

Talking exclusively to the Sun Newspaper, she said: “Bansko has the beauty of an old traditional Bulgarian town in the foothills of Pirin mountains.

“It’s a case of new meets old with cobbled lanes and terracotta roofs in the UNESCO-protected centre, which is surrounded by streets lined with bars, clubs and restaurants.

“Even though it’s Bulgaria’s biggest ski area, it has a lot to offer beyond the slopes too including; museums for those who want to tap into the local culture, restaurants offering traditional meals as well as modern cafes and themed restaurants in the new part of town.

“Other activities such as Bankso’s outdoor ice-skating rink (the largest in Bulgaria) are the perfect outing for groups and families.

Bulgarian-born Pav Todorova, 28, originally from Plovdiv, visited on school trips and holidays with her family.

She added: “As a Bulgarian, Bansko has a true Balkan vibe that holidaymakers won’t get from popular ski destinations in western Europe.

“You’ve got delicious food, music, cheap booze and plenty of spas.”

But it’s not just Ellie and Pav who are already rating Bansko as a holiday destination, celebs like Gary Dourdan from American TV show CSI have been spotted on holiday in the Bulgarian city.

The cheap prices in Bansko are another draw for visitors, with Ellie adding: “Bansko offers great value for money – expenditure on food and drink will go a lot further here, making it an attractive choice to budget-conscious travellers, including families and beginner skiers.”

Food and drink in Bansko is cheap too, with a meal at an inexpensive restaurant costing £8 per person.

Pints of beer are said to cost just over £2, with a bottle of wine coming in at £5.

Home to just 12,000 residents, the city’s compact size is another draw.

What are the best places to visit in Bansko?

Ellie Sugareva, who is the Team Manager for Bulgaria at Crystal Ski Holidays, revealed her favourite places to visit in Bansko.

  • My favourite ski run is Tomba, this is where all the ski and snowboarding annual competitions are held.
  • I also like N1, which is the longest blue in the area, as a last run down the mountain.
  • My favourite places to visit are the alpine coaster at Rila Fun Park and the natural hot mineral springs for relaxing in the nearby villages.
  • With so many food options to choose from, Ginger Bar and Dinner restaurant is the perfect spot for delicious European cuisine and live music.
  • If I’m after something a bit more traditional, Sireleshtova Kashta is my top choice.
  • I’ll finish the night at Flash because it hosts some of the best parties in town.
  • Not forgetting, The Happy End bar – it’s Bansko’s largest après bar located right next to the gondola station. This Austrian-style chalet has a DJ playing all the latest tunes from 3pm daily.

Ellie added: “Bansko is also more compact compared to most big resort names in France, Italy, Austria, and with its well-known hospitality presence, the town’s friendly residents are used to welcoming tourists.”

Those holidaymakers who want to go to Bansko for its skiing and snowboarding should visit the city between December and March because it gets reliable snow cover.

The ski resort has a good mix of levels, with eight blue runs, eleven red runs and two black runs.

Other winter activities include ATV safaris through the Pirin Mountains, a snowshoeing trip over the Rhodope range and sledding.

Away from the snowsports, there are plenty of other things to do in Bansko throughout the rest of the year.

The city’s old town is a maze of cobbled streets and traditional stone buildings, with the Holy Trinity Church and its towering bell tower being a highlight.

There are a couple of museums like Velyanov House.

Set inside a traditional Bulgarian stone building, the house is decorated with paintings and carved wooden ceilings.

Other buildings in Bansko’s old town have been turned into mehanas, old-style taverns that serve traditional Bulgarian food and wine.

  5. Genoa, Italy
  6. Pittsburgh, USA
  7. Osaka, Japan
  8. Curitiba, Brazil
  9. Palma de Mallorca, Spain
  10. Edmonton, Canada

Local folk musicians also perform inside the mehanas.

Order local delicacies like Chomlek (beef stew), Kapama (a sauerkraut dish) bob Chorba (bean soup) and Sirene po Shopski (baked tomatoes, cheese and eggs).

Bansko is a two and a half hour drive from Sofia, the Bulgarian capital – and Brits can fly there with Wizz Air and Ryanair with return fares costing £30.

The local language in Bansko is Bulgarian although people may speak English at the beach resorts.

Bulgaria is currently three hours ahead of the UK and the local currency is the Bulgaria lev with £10 getting around 22 lev.

Brits can stay in Bulgaria for up to 90 days without a visa but your passport must have at least three months left after the day you plan to leave.

Earlier this year, Pav also revealed the little-known beaches holidaymakers should visit instead of heading to Sunny Beach.

One of those places is Veleka Beach in Sinemorets, which is a tiny strip of land between the two bodies of water.

Noa-Lynn van Leuven to become first ever trans player at PDC World Darts Championship and snubs Women’s Championship

She is set to compete in the PDC Championship after turning down Lakeside for a place at Ally Pally.

Van Leuven – who transitioned in 2021 – finished second on the Order of Merit behind Beau Greaves in the PDC Women’s Series in 2024.

She claimed four Women’s Series titles throughout the year to clinch a World Championship debut.

The Dutch player produced a record-breaking 109.64 average to clinch the Event 21 title last Saturday.

And the WDF confirmed that the 28-year-old had accepted her invitation to compete in the PDC World Championship.

It means she would therefore not be playing in the Women’s World Championship at Lakeside.

Van Leuven becomes the first transgender player in the history of the PDC World Championship and will also feature in November’s Grand Slam of Darts.

Despite her success, some rivals including Britain’s Deta Hedman called for trans competitors to be banned from playing in ranked women’s tournaments.

In response, Van Leuven said: “I thought the world should know, this is discrimination. We have been thrown back 40 years with the sport of darts.

“[Other players] secretly tell me that they don’t understand the commotion but there are a lot of conservative, toxic bi***es on the women’s tour.

“People send the most terrible messages, then go on preparing their pasta. They have no idea the impact it has on my life.

“I didn’t dare go out on the street for several weeks and had panic attacks. It did take a while for that fear to go away.”

My world fell apart when a friend said she’d seen my husband with another woman in Tesco – the truth shocked her

WHEN Gemma Newman received a message from a friend saying she’d spotted her husband in Tesco with a “younger, gorgeous blonde woman” – she was taken aback.

But the 38-year-old had no reason at all to doubt Danny, 43, her partner of over 10 years, and when the pair realised what had happened they fell about laughing.

After the surgery, Gemma lost 10st 6lbs and her PCOS cleared up[/caption]

The mystery blonde walking around the supermarket on Danny’s arm was in fact, Gemma – just 10 stone lighter.

“My friend messaged me to say she’d seen Danny with a gorgeous, blonde woman in Tesco. But once she had checked out my recent pictures on Facebook, she realised it was me,” Gemma said,

“We hadn’t seen each other for a while and I was unrecognisable due to losing so much weight.

“People I know well still walk straight past me in the street.”

Gemma had been warned by doctors that she was heading towards a diabetes diagnosis, due to her weight.

At 21 stone she was plagued by sleep apnoea, sciatica, back, knee and hip pain, asthma and infertility – to list a few.

Taking matters into her own hands, Gemma decided to opt for weight loss surgery, and her life – and look – has been transformed as a result.

Her health problems have disappeared, she’s had a baby, and she was even mistaken for being ‘the other woman’ when her friend didn’t recognise her.

Before having a gastric bypass, nurse Gemma was a size 24 and was battling one health problem after another.

“When I was 19, I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome,” she said. “From that point on, I found it impossible to shift the pounds. And having a big appetite and a love of takeaways certainly didn’t help.”

Husband and wife Danny and Gemma, who live in Cumbria, became a couple after 10 years of friendship.

“Danny was amazing at helping me raise my daughter Ellie from a previous relationship. It seemed like a miracle I’d even had her.

“During my PCOS diagnosis, the doctor had told me I’d never conceive without IVF.

“Fast forward a few years and Danny and I really wanted a sibling for Ellie, but I didn’t have periods and never got a positive ovulation test.

“We just couldn’t conceive a baby, and I knew it was because of my weight and PCOS.”

PROPOSAL JOY TURNED TO FEAR

In 2019, Danny proposed and though Gemma was excited, she was also dreading walking down the aisle with everyone’s eyes on her.

She had tried countless diets, including Slimming World, Atkins and Slimfast, but never lost more than a few pounds.

She also tried gym classes, training at home and running. But her aching body made exercising agony.

“I had so many health problems that I felt like I was falling apart,” she said.

“I was suffering with hernias, sciatica, back, knee and hip pain, uncontrolled asthma, gastric reflux, and I was borderline diabetic.

“I had to wear a CPAP mask in bed for my sleep apnoea and often stopped breathing at night, leaving Danny in a panic.

“Broken sleep meant I was too tired after work to even take Ellie to the park, and I usually fell asleep before dinner.

“I was existing not living, and I needed to do something. That’s when I started researching weight loss surgery.

When she told me she’d seen Danny holding hands with another woman in Tesco, I was so confused. I’d been with him all day.

Gemma Newman

“My GP told me there was a huge waiting list for a gastric bypass and to have one privately in the UK would cost £12,000.

“So, I found a reputable clinic abroad that offered the same thing for half the price.”

In May 2021, Gemma flew to Nordbariatric Clinic in Lithuania for a £6,000 gastric bypass.

“The clinic had instructed me to follow a calorie-controlled diet to make the surgery safer and I got down to 19st 14lbs, then I was ready – and excited – for the surgery.”

In the weeks following the operation, Gemma was only allowed water, broth, then baby food and yoghurt, before moving onto solid foods.

Two months after the surgery, Gemma and Danny’s big day arrived.

“When we got married, I’d lost almost three stone already and had my size 24 wedding dress taken in four sizes.

“As I walked towards Danny in my princess gown, I felt lighter – physically and emotionally.”

NEWFOUND CONFIDENCE

By March 2022, Gemma had lost 10st 6lbs and swapping baggy tops and leggings for bodysuits, dresses and skirts gave her a newfound confidence.

Losing half her body weight also meant saying goodbye to her long list of health issues and the CPAP machine. Even her PCOS cleared up.

In April 2022, Gemma received an unexpected message from an old friend on Facebook.

“When she told me she’d seen Danny holding hands with another woman in Tesco, I was so confused. I’d been with him all day.

Danny’s mates tell him he’s punching and now, when he tells me I look beautiful, I actually believe him.

Gemma Newman

“Then I realised that the last time my friend had seen me was pre-op, and we weren’t friends on Facebook, so she thought I was still big.

“I added her and as soon as she saw my recent photos, she clocked that the woman in the supermarket had been me!

“The case of mistaken identity really made me and Danny laugh, and it still happens now.

“People I know often walk straight past me in the street, before doubling back and taking in my new look.”

In 2023, Gemma discovered she was pregnant and in December, the couple welcomed their daughter, Evie Grace, now 10 months, making Ellie, now six, a proud big sister.

“We were just about to begin the IVF process before I had the gastric bypass, but amazingly, thanks to losing weight, we conceived naturally.

“I only gained 7lb during the pregnancy and I’m now 11st 1lb and wear a size 10-12. I can eat pretty much what I like, just small portions.

“Danny’s mates tell him he’s punching and now, when he tells me I look beautiful, I actually believe him.

“I can no longer gorge on an all-you-can-eat Chinese, but that’s a small price to pay for my health.

“There’s such a stigma to weight loss surgery, but it gave me a longer life expectancy, a baby with Danny and the energy to be a better mum. I’m finally who I’m meant to be.”

How to lose weight without surgery

There are various other ways to lose weight without going under the knife.

According to the NHS, to get the best possible start on its weight loss plan, there are the seven steps you should follow.

  1. Get active for 150 minutes a week – you can break this up into shorter sessions
  2. Aim to get your 5 A Day – 80g of fresh, canned or frozen fruit or vegetables count as 1 portion
  3. Aim to lose 1 to 2lbs, or 0.5 to 1kg, a week
  4. Read food labels – products with more green colour coding than amber and red are often a healthier option
  5. Swap sugary drinks for water – if you do not like the taste, add slices of lemon or lime for flavour
  6. Cut down on food that’s high in sugar and fat – start by swapping sugary cereal for wholegrain alternatives
  7. Share your weight loss plan with someone you trust – they can help motivate you when you have a bad day

Strictly’s Wynne Evans accused of making ‘crude’ joke with make-up artist before Katya ‘grope’

STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Wynne Evans has come under fire again for allegedly telling a “crude” joke to one of the show’s make-up artists.

It come after the singer, 52, revealed his “heartbreak” over his live TV “grope” row with Katya Jones.

Insiders claim the opera star made a joke that the folds of his double chin “looked like a vagina”.

According to the Mirror, he made the remark ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing launch show last month.

A source told the outlet: “It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke.”

No official complaint has been made, and the insider added: “Wynne clearly didn’t mean any offence, but you have to be a little bit careful these days.”

A source close to Wynne said the joke was “self-deprecating and made in a private conversation” with a make-up artist, who was also said to not have been “offended”.

Last month, Wynne was left “heartbroken” following a backlash after his Strictly pro partner Katya Jones was filmed removing his hand from her waist.

They then sparked further fury, when she was seen refusing to high-five the Opera singer.

The duo were quick to issue a video apology and insisted it was all an innocent “inside joke”.

Days later, Wynne took to his BBC Radio Wales show for a further raw reveal.

He told his listeners: “I’m absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day.

“It’s not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we’re really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.

“It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK?

“We thought it was funny. It wasn’t funny.

“It was been totally misinterpreted.”

The Go Compare advert star then gushed over his “brilliant friendship” with the Russian and added: “Everything’s on Katya’s socials. She’s talked about it.”

Despite fans demanding the pair clarify exactly what “the joke” was, Wynne didn’t explain any further.

He said: “She’s explained that it was a joke. She wasn’t offended in the least. She doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

“We’ve got a brilliant friendship, an absolutely tight friendship, and I’m sorry if anybody was offended by it, but it was a joke.

“And that’s all there is. There is no real story, really.”

PURE BANTS

Wynne was referring to the video Katya had uploaded to her social media pages this weekend.

The clip – posted shortly after the online chaos ensued – saw Katya tell fans: “Hi everyone, it’s Wynne and Katya here, we just wanted to say we were messing around in the clauditorium on Saturday night and we just want to say sorry.”

Strictly 2024 pairings

Here's who is matched with who this series...

She added: “It was a silly joke.”

While Wynne echoed: “Yeah, sorry.”

Katya then hit back a second time in a another video upload.

On Sunday afternoon, Katya returned to Instagram with another message for her fans.

She said: “Happy Sunday everyone. Now, I need to make something crystal clear.

“The hand incident that happened on Sunday night was indeed a very silly inside joke.

“So even the idea that he made me feel uncomfortable or offended me in anyway is complete nonsense.

“It’s quite absurd actually.

“Now can we just focus on how brilliant he is doing and what an amazing dancer that he’s becoming.”

BAD TASTE?

The pair’s banter came after the BBC series was engulfed in a string of scandals – though there is no suggestion Katya and Wynne’s joke was inappropriate.

The findings of a probe into former Strictly professional Giovanni Pernice’s behaviour were published earlier this month.

The report upheld six out of 17 allegations against pro dancer Gio.

The BBC has now apologised to his former show partner, actress Amanda Abbington, over the programme’s bullying scandal.

It was claimed the corporation spent an eye-watering six-figure sum on the investigation.

Meanwhile, the same investigation also saw Giovanni’s fellow Italian pro Graziano Di Prima axed after allegations of “physical incidents” towards show partner Zara McDermott, 27.

But shoppers have revealed they’ve found the perfect buy to keep warm this winter and they say it’s even better than a hot water bottle.

Happy customers who have purchased the Electric Heat Pad with Automatic Switch-Off from Amazon have been raving about the product.

The heating pad has six different heat settings to suit all your needs and can be placed on the sofa, chair, or bed to keep you warm.

Not only does it have six heat settings, it also has four timer settings so that you can get it to switch off automatically.

The heated pad is also machine washable so you can clean it up if you spill anything on it.

Shoppers seemed to use it to either keep them warm or help with any pain – both admitted it worked excelllently.

Many claimed it was much better than a hot water bottle to keep them toasty as they don’t have to get up and boil the kettle again.

And priced at just £20 it’s too good of a deal not to pick up.

The product is a hit online earning the badge Amazon’s Choice for heated pads on their site and earning a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5.

Thousands of happy customers took to the reviews to show much they rated it.

One person wrote: “Usable on couch, bed, easy to pack for travelling. Ideal alternative to hot water bottles as it doesn’t lose its heat.”

Another commented: “Brilliant product! Has several different heat settings and a timer! Very very nice product!”

“I only wish I’d bought this earlier. So far it’s excellent – temperature and timer controls work well, and it heats up fast.,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Was really impressed. So lovely and soft.”

5 ways to keep your house warm in winter

Property expert Joshua Houston shared his tips.

1. Curtains

“Windows are a common place for the outside cold to get into your home, this is because of small gaps that can let in air so always close your curtains as soon as it gets dark,” he said.

This simple method gives you an extra layer of warmth as it can provide a kind of “insulation” between your window and curtain.

2. Rugs

“Your floor is another area of your home where heat can be lost and can make your home feel chilly,” he continued. “You might notice on cold days, that your floor is not nice to walk on due to it freezing your feet.

“Add rugs to areas that don’t already have a carpet, this provides a layer of insulation between your bare floor and the room above.”

3. Check your insulation

Check your pipes, loft space, crawlspaces and underneath floorboards.

“Loose-fill insulation is very good for this, and is a more affordable type of insulation, with a big bag being able to be picked up for around £30,” Joshua explained.

4. Keep your internal doors closed

“Household members often gather in one room in the evening, and this is usually either the kitchen or living room,” Joshua said.

“This means you only have to heat a small area of your home, and closing the doors keeps the heat in and the cold out.”

5. Block drafts

Don’t forget to check cat flaps, chimneys and letterboxes, as they can let in cold air if they aren’t secure.

“Great little body heater,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Love this little heater mat – costs very little to run and gives out great heat! Bought one for my daughter to keep her warm when working from home!”
