I faint EVERY time I laugh, cry or get hungover because of bizarre rare condition – I’m terrified it’ll KILL me one day

A WOMAN has revealed her rare condition which makes her “faint” whenever she laughs, cries or is hungover – and once almost drowned in a pool due to it.

Chelsea Coombes, 27, first realised something was wrong when she was 17 years old and felt her face drop after she laughed.

It continued to happen when she giggled and got worse – causing her head to jolt and her mouth to shut.

Chelsea went to the doctor at the time and was told she likely had sleep disorder narcolepsy and cataplexy – a sudden and brief loss of muscle tone – but failed to get an official diagnosis.

But Chelsea has gradually got worse and said her episodes are triggered by her emotions – such as when she laughs, cries and when she is hungover.

She is often able to laugh off the symptoms but has found it “scary” when she almost drowned after losing control of her muscles while laughing.

Chelsea, a social media creator, from Kibworth, Leicestershire, said: “It’s like a weak light headedness.

“My eyes will flicker. My leg jolts and my head will start to go.

“I’m still conscious – it’s like my brain is drunk.

“Sometime my head will jolt and my eye looks the other way.”

Chelsea first noticed something was wrong aged 17.

She said: “I was at my auntie’s house. I remember laughing and one side of my face dropped.

“I thought ‘what the hell? I think I’ve just had a stroke’.

“I laughed again and it happened.

“When it first started happening I was falling asleep everywhere.

“I still fall asleep very easily.”

Chelsea would continually find she would have a momentary loss of movement when she laughed and went to see her doctor.

She said: “At first they thought it could have been a non-epileptic disorder.”

Chelsea had several tests and saw a neurologist who believed it was narcolepsy and the linked condition cataplexy.

She “gave up” going to the doctor after tests didn’t show anything up and has yet to receive an official diagnosis.

Over the years Chelsea’s symptoms have worsened and different emotions have started to trigger it.

She said: “Laughter is the main one.

“Sometimes I’ll have it when I cry or when I’m hungover.

“Years ago it happened to me when I was carrying cups of tea and I laughed. Now carrying cups of tea is a trigger.

Chelsea describes the lack of muscle tone as similar to fainting – but she is conscious.

Her condition has now worsened and she can lose muscle tone up to 100 times a day.

Chelsea said: “It’s got to the point where it’s just part of me now.

“If I have got a present to give to someone I get really excited and then it can happen.

“When it’s at it’s worse my legs go.

“Any strong emotion – it happens.

“But I can have a whole day when I laugh and it doesn’t happen.”

If Chelsea is in public she usually knows to get on the ground if she can feel it happening. She says she often has strangers checking if she is OK.

She said: “I went on holiday and it happened in the pool and people had to grab me – that’s crazy dangerous.

“That’s been quite scary.”

Chelsea also can’t drive and is worried about when she starts a family.

She said: “I don’t have kids yet but I really want them.

“What would happen if I’m holding my baby and I faint.”

Chelsea has now gone back to the doctor for testing to get an official diagnosis – and to see if they can help.

But she shares her condition and episodes on TikTok to raise awareness and show other with the condition it’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Chelsea said: “You don’t have to hide.

“I’m not a very serious person.

“I don’t take life seriously.”

What is Narcolepsy?

Not everyone suffering from the long-term condition will have the same symptoms, which can develop suddenly or over a number of years.

According to the NHS website, those worried about any relevant warning signs should book in a visit to their GP who can refer them to a sleep disorder specialist.

What are the symptoms?

  • Excessive daytime sleepiness
  • Sleep attacks
  • Cataplexy
  • Sleep paralysis
  • Hallucinations
  • Memory problems
  • Headaches
  • Restless sleep
  • Automatic behaviour
  • Depression

Immigration haunts Kamala Harris – she flip-flops so much voters don’t know what she stands for, says Andrew Neil

FLIP-FLOPPING Kamala Harris is constantly haunted by the issue of immigration, says Andrew Neil.

The esteemed British journalist believes that Harris, 60, hasn’t convinced many undecided American voters yet with less than 24 hours to go before the presidential polls open.

Trump has labelled Harris a ‘border czar’ in the past for her role on immigration policies[/caption]

Andrew Neil told The Sun’s political editor Harry Cole on Never Mind The Ballots that he thinks the safe vote is still in the hands of the Democrat’s leader.

But says she is still a risk for millions of unsure voters due to her inauthenticity and track record with major political issues – especially immigration.

As Vice President, Harris was tasked with coming up with solutions to America’s immigration issues for several years.

Many feel not enough was done during her time under Joe Biden with rival Donald Trump even labelling her as a “border czar” in the run-up to November 5.

Trump has constantly tried to blame Harris for the immigration issues over the past four years.

He also claims she has overstated her diplomatic tasks as Vice President and not managed to reduce the root problems with migration from South America.

Despite Trump’s accusations Harris has been committed to bringing in more Border Patrol agents to keep an eye on people entering the US illegally.

She says when she is elected the bill will be pushed through Congress to maintain order across the border.

Harris has also vowed to increase the number of asylum officers, immigration judges and immigration detention beds.

Many voters remain sceptical over Harris’ position in regards to immigration after the Biden administration appeared to lack much conviction to sending away illegal immigrants.

Trump on the other hand is very clear on his stance with immigrants as he has labelled all illegal immigrants as criminals in the past.

Speaking on The Sun’s Never Mind The Ballot’s YouTube show, Andrew Neil said: “I think the American people still see her (Harris) as a risk because they don’t quite know what she really stands for. They don’t quite know what they’re getting.

“She hasn’t cut through and I think a lot of the times that’s because she is not authentic enough.

“I mean Trump is authentic and I think Trump can be authentic in a bad way but he is authentic. She is not.

“Hanging over it all is immigration. I think immigration haunts her like no other issue.

“Sending them to cities like New York, Washington DC and Chicago has nationalised the issue so it is no longer just a boarder state issue.

“She was put in charge of that by Mr Biden and although as the election loomed by executive order a number of tougher things were done on immigration it only raises the question of why didn’t you (Harris) do that right away.”

Many voters may fear Harris will continue to deal with immigration in a similar way to how she did as Joe Biden’s VP, says Neil[/caption]

It comes as The Sun revealed that almost half of Americans say Harris was an ineffective Vice President, according to an exclusive poll.

Harris has attempted to walk the line between pushing her record as Joe Biden’s VP for the past four years while still claiming that she represents a break with the past.

In her Fox News interview last month, Harris said her presidency wouldn’t be a “continuation” of Biden’s.

Yet The U.S. Sun’s poll shows voters’ negative views of her performance as VP still remain.

Of respondents, nine per cent said Harris has been “Somewhat ineffective” as the Vice President, while a third (33 per cent) said she had been “Very ineffective.”

Pollsters still believe the battle between Trump and Harris is extremely close.

Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are currently too close to call as the crucial swing states.

Their combined 93 electoral college votes will push either Trump or Harris over the finish line.

But polling shows both hopefuls are within just two points of each other in the undecided states.

Pennsylvania in particular is showing just a 0.8 per cent margin in Trump’s favour, according to polling from RealClearPolitics.

How do the US presidential elections work?

BY Ellie Doughty, Foreign News Reporter

The Democratic and Republican parties nominate their candidates with a series of votes – called state primaries and caucuses – in the run up to the election in November, held every four years.

This gives members the opportunity to choose who they want to lead the party into an election – this year, Donald Trump and following Biden’s resignation, Kamala Harris.

There are also some independent candidates running for president – arguably the most well-known was Robert F Kennedy Jr who pulled out in August and endorsed Trump.

In US elections the winner is not the candidate who gets the most votes across the country.

Instead Trump and Harris will compete to win smaller contests held in each of the 50 states.

Many of the states often vote the same way – but seven of them – Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada and Arizona – tend to go in either direction.

Each state has a number of electoral college votes – partly based on population sizes – with a total of 538 across the country up for grabs.

The winner is the candidate that gets 270 or more, marking a majority in the electoral college.

All but two of the US’ 50 states – Maine and Nebraska – have a winner-takes-all rule.

Meaning whichever candidate gets the highest number of votes wins all of the state’s electoral college votes.

In 2016 Hillary Clinton won more votes nationally than Donald Trump – but she still lost the election because of electoral college votes.

The candidate who will win this election is the one who secures 270 or more college ballots.

Usually the winner is declared on the night, but it can take days to finalise the result.

In 2020 Joe Biden wasn’t officially announced as the president-elect until November 7.

The new president will be sworn into office in January on the steps of the Capitol building in Washington DC.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson: UK fight time, ring-walks, live stream, TV channel and full undercard for massive fight

MIKE TYSON will return to the ring for the first time since 2020 to face internet sensation Jake Paul NEXT WEEK.

The Problem Child overcame Mike Perry with a brutal sixth-round stoppage in back July – but he faces a completely different challenge in ‘Iron Mike’ next.

Paul has won all three of his fights since losing to Tommy Fury a year-and-a-half ago.

Tyson, 58, returns to the ring in controversial circumstances, with many of the opinion the boxing legend shouldn’t fight again.

Tyson’s last bout came in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, of which Paul was on the undercard against former NBA player Nate Robinson.

When is Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson?

    • Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson has been rescheduled for Friday, November 15.
    • The fight was originally set for July 20 – but was moved back after Tyson’s health issues.
    • The main card is set to start at 1am in the early hours of Saturday, November 16.
    • However, ring-walks for Paul vs Tyson are expected to get underway from approximately 4am UK time/11pm ET.
    • Paul vs Tyson, the main event, will get going from around 4am GMT.
    • The bout will be hosted at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Why was Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson postponed?

Mike Tyson’s health issues forced him to put his training on hold.

The former world champion suffered a medical emergency on board a flight in May as a result of an ulcer flare up.

Netflix, who were set to show the fight, released a statement announcing the cancellation.

It reads: “Unfortunately Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will not face-off on July 20 as planned. Tyson’s recent ulcer flare up has limited his ability to train fully for the next few weeks.

“The fight will be rescheduled for a date later this year after Mike’s able to resume training with no limitations and both fighters can have equal time to prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup!”

Tyson required medical assistance from paramedics on board a flight from Miami to LA.

He felt nauseous and dizzy though his publicist said he was feeling “very good” after treatment.

What TV channel is Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson on and can it be live streamed?

    • Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix.
    • It will be the streaming giant’s first venture into combat sports.
    • Jake Paul confirmed on X that the bout with Mike Tyson will be available to all Netflix subscribers at no additional cost.

    What’s been said?

On the announcement of the huge fight, Paul said: “It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard.

“Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons.

“Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world – a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.

“Whether you’re tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event.”

Mike Tyson has also spoken about the fight with Paul on July 20, he said: “I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones Jr and now I plan to finish him.”

Beloved garage known for work on ‘exotic & classic cars’ closes doors after 92 YEARS after heartbreaking decision

A BELOVED family-run garage that’s been serving its local community for nearly a century has closed its doors for good.

R Jackson Motors in Herne Bay, Kent, has been a staple on Bullockstone Road since 1932.

The long-running mechanic shop first opened its doors in 1932[/caption]

But after 92 years, the independent garage has shut its doors so that long-time owners, Richard and Brenda Jackson, can enjoy their retirement.

In a report by KentOnline, Richard, 72, said: “As Brenda and I are both now in our early 70s, we have decided to retire and enjoy having time for ourselves and walking our dog, Molly.

“I would like to thank our many thousands of very loyal and lovely customers, many of whom have become friends over the years.”

The mechanic shop first opened under the name LH Jackson Motors in 1932, where Richard’s father, Lewis Harold Jackson, repaired cars, lorries and agricultural machinery before the business expanded into selling vehicles and equipment in 1958.

Later, it opened workshops and a showroom on Kings Road and added repair centres on Beach Street.

But after the founder’s death in 1985, Richard and Brenda dissolved the newer parts of the company and focused on running the site on Bullockstone.

Richard added: “We decided we did not want the responsibility of two very large premises and over 30 staff.

“We returned to the Bullockstone site in 1987 and R Jackson Motors was born.”

Following in his father’s footsteps, Richard continued the servicing and repairs of vehicles – while also expanding to the sale and servicing of garden machinery.

Richard said: “I had always wanted to work with cars, that was the family trade.

“My original apprenticeship was in marine engineering, I completed that in the 70s and then went to work for my father.

“We’ve been lucky to work on a number of exotic and classic cars, Ferraris, Maseratis, American Muscle Cars, but also boat motors, lawnmower repairs.

“We even restored two 1923 and 1928 Rolls Royces – it was amazing to work on cars of that age.”

Richard took the time to single out one very loyal customer, Keat Farm Caravans, which first worked with the garage through his father in 1953, and lasted until present day.

Richard said: “I think 72 years is possibly a local record as a long-standing customer, and one we are very proud of.

“We would also like to say a huge thank you to chief technician Lee Harrison and agricultural and lawnmower engineer Tom Howland for all their hard work and loyalty working alongside us for so many years.”

This comes as a pair of veteran car enthusiasts showed what’s under their bonnet as they perch on a 1901 Mors — bringing a touch of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang magic to the road.

Scores of vintage cars drove 60 miles from London to Brighton, not exceeding 20mph, over the weekend, for the world’s oldest and slowest motoring event.

Elsewhere, an incredible fleet of abandoned cars that were sat in a junkyard for decades were recently sold off at an auction – with many fetching millions.
