I found a surprise in the pocket of a coat I’d bought on Vinted so messaged the seller & ended up dobbing in her husband

YOU’D hope that items you buy on Vinted are checked over to make sure there aren’t any surprises hiding inside.

But one buyer found out the hard way that it’s not always the case, after buying a trench coat someone was selling on behalf of her partner from the secondhand marketplace.

But when he messaged the seller, he discovered she had no idea about the pills[/caption]

In a post on Reddit, the man explained that when he wore the coat for the first time, he put his hand in the pocket and discovered a surprise.

“Wore it for the first time and found a sleeve of Viagra in the inside pocket,” he wrote.

“So sent I her a message to thank them for the freebie – because I found it hilarious.”

“Hey, just wearing the coat for the first time properly and went to put something in the inside pocket and found what I presume is your partner’s blue pills, lol,” a screenshot showed that the message had read.

“So thanks for the free medication I guess.”

However, he quickly realised that the woman had no idea her man was using the sexually-enhancing drug, as she then replied: “That’s news to me about them too!”

“Turns out she didn’t know anything about her partner using it.

“So I’ve well and truly dropped him in it,” the man concluded the Reddit post.

He then added: “I kinda wanna fish for more information but I’m not sure what to say!”

People were quick to comment on the post, with one writing: “Ahh finding medication in your second hand purchases is always great.

“My last thrifted bag came with some free diarrhoea pills!”

“I got a packet of diazepam in the pocket of new jeans bought from a high street clothes shop,” another laughed.

“Reminds me of the time my flatmate bought a purse from vinted from an old lady and there were magnum size condoms in the pockets,” a third giggled.

“The only thing I ever find in pockets of second hand clothes are used tissues,” someone else sighed.

Why I hate Vinted, a real-life view

Fabulous Associate Editor Sarah Barns opens up on why she hates Vinted:

It’s the king of second-hand fashion but I hate Vinted.

There I said it. Yes, it stops items going into landfill. Yes, it helps create additional side-hustle income for many.

And yes, you can get things at bargain prices. But it is just not my (shopping) bag.

From personal experience, I’ve bought ‘cheap’ bundles of children’s clothes only for them to arrive dirty and misshapen.

Plus, with postage and buyer protection they didn’t feel like such a great deal. I much prefer going to my local charity shop or supermarket for kids’ stuff.

I’ve also bought more premium high-street items – a dress from Arket and a skirt from Cos – only to find they didn’t fit properly and the colours were faded.

I attempted a bout of selling stuff but gave up after my £110 Veja trainers got lost in the post and I spent two hours on the phone to Royal Mail.

A major gripe with it is that it still encourages you to spend, spend, spend. I’m not sure I needed the items I did purchase, I just didn’t want to miss out.

Also, the reselling of fast-fashion items – a £5 Shein top on Vinted for £17.50 – makes me feel a bit queasy.

Clothes shopping has become a daily hobby for a lot of people when really it should be something that’s done once or twice a year as a necessity.

But the 18 million Vinted app users clearly disagree with me.

“Yeah the only extra things I got in an item were betting slips and a receipt from Pets at Home,” another agreed.

“I once bought a toiletry bag, and there was an unused (thankfully) condom in the front pocket,” someone else admitted.

I wanted a meaningful tattoo to remember my Thailand holiday, but ended up mortified when I realised my massive mistake

A BLOKE was in for a shock of his lifetime after forking out for a dodgy tattoo whilst on holiday in Thailand.

The man initially thought the Thai characters on his forearm read ‘’love, peace and harmony”.

The tourist was mortified when he realised what his ‘love, peace and harmony’ inking actually stood for[/caption]

Thai speakers were quick to crush his dream and revealed that the characters actually stood for a spicy dish[/caption]

However, much to his surprise, eagle-eyed social media users quickly crushed his dreams and brought him a harsh reality check.

The holiday-goer, who shared the snap of his inking on Reddit, was keen to show off the thick Thai letters.

Unfortunately for the tourist, he was shocked when the true meaning was revealed.

The message read Kaeng Khiao Wan Ped Kai, which in fact translates to ‘’spicy green curry with chicken’’ in English.

A version of the aromatic dish, popular with holiday lovers in Thailand, is often made for foodies who are less comfortable with spicy foods.

While the bloke was obviously keen to have a nice reminder of his trip abroad, it seems this was not the kind of sentiment he was going for.

Although it’s not the tattoo he was after, the man tried the authentic version of this dish at a beachfront eatery in Ban Saray, Chon Buri province, according to the post on the forum.

“It (spicy green curry with chicken) was one of the spiciest meals I’ve ever eaten.

”It was at a Bang Saray beachfront restaurant made from an old boat,” he said.

Fellow Redditors who spoke the language tried to let him down gently.

“I’m so sorry to be that guy but that’s not how Thai people refer to the dish. I’m Thai and never in my life have I called green curry [Kaeng Khiao Wan Ped Kai].

”We just call it [Gaeng Khiao Wan Kai]. But at least the spelling is correct,” wrote one Thai speaker.

A survey carried out by YouGov last year revealed that Brits are tattoo lovers.

The findings said that “a quarter (26%) of the British population have tattoos and one in nine (11%) of this group have tattoos that are visible; either on their head, face, neck, forearms, wrists, or hands.”

Sadly for the bloke, with the average price of a tattoo removal in the UK will set him back anywhere from £150 to £200.

Tattoo Do's and Don'ts

    1. Think, think and think some more

Tattoos done on a whim are far more likely to lead to regret than a tattoo you thought long and hard about. Think about why you want what you’ve chosen. And if you still want it after a few months, then get it.

    2. Age restrictions apply

You must be 18 years old to be tattooed in the UK.

    3. Don’t haggle over the price

When you go to a tattoo shop the price is the price. You are paying for an artist’s time and skills, they charge what they believe those things are worth.

    4. Don’t get tattooed while you’re hungry

Eat before you go for your tattoo session and make sure you’re hydrated. You’re about to be subjected to a period of sustained physical discomfort, if you’re feeling a little weak from hunger or you’re dehydrated things will not go as smoothly as they should.

    5. Don’t drink alcohol before you get tattooed

If you are drunk or under the influence of drugs, don’t go for a tattoo. In fact, if your tattooist has anything at all about them they will turn you away if you are clearly under the influence of any intoxicating substances.  I’d also avoid drinking the night before, even a few drinks will thin your blood and make your bleed more.

Today, the majority of inkings ”are removed with a Q-switched laser, which sends out energy in one strong pulse”, Healthline explained.

”This pulse of energy heats up the ink in your skin to dissolve it. You’ll need to receive a number of laser treatments over several weeks or longer to remove your tattoo.

”Older or less complex tattoos will require fewer sessions, while newer or more complex tattoos will require more.”

The removal process will take several sessions, with Redditors hoping the tourist enjoys the meal enough to see it every day in the reflection or whilst getting dressed.

Thousands of pensioners to get one-off cost of living payment worth £120 after losing winter fuel payment

THOUSANDS of pensioners will be eligible for a payment worth £120 after losing the winter fuel allowance.

The move follows the government’s decision to make the winter fuel payment means tested from this winter.

It was feared that the fund would come to an end in September[/caption]

Norfolk County Council revealed how it plans to spend the £6.7million it received from the government’s Household Support Fund.

It was feared that the fund would come to an end in September, but the Labour government has extended it.

Now the Conservative-run County Hall in Norfolk say 50,000 households will see the benefit of it.

The council plans to use £750,000 working with charities and organisations to identify elderly people who missed out on pension credit eligibility, Wymondham & Attenborough Mercury reports.

Winter fuel payments will still go to those eligible for pension credit, but people on the borderline, like those paying higher costs due to being disabled, could get a one-off payment of £120 because of the scheme.

Families eligible for means-tested free school means will also benefit from £3.6million going towards cost-of-living vouchers.

The Norfolk Assistance Scheme, which helps people with household goods and emergency financial support, will also get a £1million boost.

Proposals to support some of Norfolk’s most vulnerable people this winter have been set out on Tuesday.

Norfolk County Council revealed how it was looking to use £1.15million of the £6.7million allocated to the county through the Household Support Fund.

Councillor Andrew Jamieson, deputy leader and cabinet member for finance at Norfolk County Council said: “We are extremely concerned about the impact that the government’s decision will have on our communities.

“Winter can be an extremely challenging time for our older residents and the cost of heating your home can make it difficult to pay for other necessities.

“There will be thousands of people who will miss the new cut-off by a small margin, leaving them without the means to pay for the cost of fuel.

“The county council will make sure payments make their way quickly to those who most need them, working closely with Age UK, Citizen Advice Bureau and other local partners.

“However, the funding only lasts until March. I will continue to urge the government to find a solution that isn’t to the detriment of our older residents.”

How has the Household Support Fund evolved?

The Household Support Fund was first launched in October 2021 to help Brits pay their way through winter amid the cost of living crisis.

Councils up and down the country got a slice of the £421million funding available to dish out to Brits in need.

It was then extended for a second time in the 2022 Spring Budget and for a third time in October 2022 to help those on the lowest incomes with the rising cost of living.

The DWP then confirmed a fourth extension of the scheme through to March 31, 2024.

Former chancellor Jeremy Hunt extended the HSF for the fifth time while delivering his Spring Budget on March 6, 2024.

Harry Kane scores incredibly rare German hat-trick in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win over Stuttgart

HARRY KANE hit his third hat-trick of the season – and served up the perfect reminder to Thomas Tuchel he is still the man to lead England’s attack.

The Three Lions skipper, 31, struck his latest treble in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Stuttgart on Saturday.

The England striker hit three in the second half at the Allianz Arena[/caption]

Kane’s haul took his tally to 13 goals in ten games for the Bundesliga giants so far in this campaign.

The former Tottenham striker has carried on from where he left off after his record-breaking first season at the Allianz Arena working under new England boss Tuchel.

Kane ended his first year in Germany with 36 league goals to win the European Golden Boot and topped the Champions League scoring chart with eight goals.

His latest three-goal glut came after a goalless first half in Munich.

Bayern turned on the style after the break, with Kane scoring a perfect German hat-trick.

The term refers to three goals which are scored consecutively without any other player netting in between.

Kane opened the scoring in the 57th minute, crashing in a trademark strike from just outside the box.

He doubled Bayern’s lead on the hour mark, firing home after a goalmouth scramble.

And with ten minutes left, Kane secured the match ball as he pounced on a rebound to slam in Bayern’s third.

Bayern sub Kingsley Coman rounded off the scoring, curling past Alexander Nubel with seconds left on the clock.

Kane returned to international action for England against Finland last Sunday.

The Three Lions 68-goal record scorer made it clear he is looking forward to renewing his relationship with his former boss after the FA announced Tuchel as Gareth Southgate’s successor on Wednesday.

Kane posted a message on X following the reveal, writing: “Looking forward to playing under the boss again!”

And he backed up his bid to impress Tuchel with his latest goal blitz, firing Bayern back to the top of the Bundesliga.

Inside FA's thrilling chase for Tuchel

THE FA’s path to securing Thomas Tuchel's signature was not a straightforward one.

They tried to lure Pep Guardiola from Manchester City over the summer.

They even made contact with Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti after deciding to target trophy-laden foreign gaffers.

The FA’s determination to go international was summed up by their decision NOT to interview Newcastle boss Eddie Howe.

Initial talks with Tuchel saw him express a slight interest in replacing Gareth Southgate.

But he was waiting to see what would happen at Manchester United, with Erik ten Hag’s future under the spotlight.

Man Utd owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe eventually decided to stick with Ten Hag – and that opened the door to the FA getting their man.

Speaking to media after the game, Kane said: “We played well.

“The first goal was very important. It opened the game up.

“I always have faith in myself. It’s how it is being a striker. If you don’t score, then there are questions asked.

“I’m just happy. In the second half, we stepped it up a notch and Stuttgart couldn’t keep up.”

Danny Welbeck injury update as Brighton manager left fearing for striker after he is stretchered off and given oxygen

BRIGHTON boss Fabian Hurzeler is praying golden oldie Danny Welbeck’s back injury is not as bad as feared.

The striker, who turns 34 next month, was carried off receiving oxygen for the pain after being caught by Fabian Schar’s knee during Brighton’s 1-0 win over Newcastle yesterday.

Welbeck only managed five goals in the entirety of last season – but this was his fifth already this term as he appears to be in the form of his life.

The Seagulls boss said: “Hopefully it’s not that bad but we can’t be sure. Let’s wait for the result of the scans.

“I don’t judge him just by goals and assists, honestly for me it’s more about how he works for the team.

“He’s the perfect role model and you can only do it every week when you behave professionally.”

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk added: “I’m gutted to see him go off, he’s been in top, top form this season. He was ruthless scoring his goal.

“He’s one of the top professionals at this football club and he’s a great key to our success.

“He helps everyone, young and old. Hopefully his injury is not too bad and we’ll have him fighting to get fit.”

And it looks as though Welbeck could be doing better than initially thought after Brighton’s official X account posted an update on his injury.

A picture of Welbeck giving a thumbs up while on the Seagull’s flight back to the south coast was accompanied with the caption: “Dat Guy’s a bit bruised and battered.

“But the good news is out match winner at St James’ Park, Danny Welbeck, is on out flight home.”

Liam Payne was ‘completely clean’ in tests to renew US visa just days before death in tragic balcony fall, pal claims

LIAM Payne was clean just days before he fell 45ft to his death from his hotel room’s balcony, pals claim.

Sources close to the star said he had entered Argentina on September 30 with the aim of renewing his expired US visa.

This is understood to be the final photo of Liam

They claim that when Liam spoke to US embassy officials, they queried his previous stints in rehab and said he needed to take a drugs test to prove he was clean in order to renew his visa.

A source said: “The embassy said he needed to do a strict investigation including X-rays and a blood test to search for traces of drugs.

“He was completely clean the Thursday before he died.

“On the weekend at his friend’s ranch, he was completely sober.”

An insider said Liam was examined by a US Embassy-certified doctor and that he collected his results, which showed he was clean, on Tuesday.

The source said Liam’s good friend Roger last saw the star for ten minutes on Wednesday, and that he left the hotel at 3.30pm.

The insider said: “Roger told him, ‘I’ve got to run’ and Liam said, ‘Go do your own thing’. That was the last thing they said to each other.”

They added: “Roger is upset – at one point on Wednesday he was phoned by a hotel manager who said they had found Liam asleep on the floor of the elevator.

Liam tragically fell from a third floor hotel balcony[/caption]

“They moved him to the sofa in the hotel lobby but the manager said he couldn’t stay there, and that he needed to go to his room.

“In the emergency call, they said they were worried Liam’s life was in danger because he was in a room with a balcony.

“Why didn’t they just let him stay sleeping in the lobby if they were worried about this?”

A pal of Roger told us: “Liam’s behaviour hadn’t been off at all – he was happy.

The 1D star arrived with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and close friend Roger Nores on September 30.

    It comes as…

He visited the US embassy in Buenos Aires that week but his application was reportedly delayed over his history of substance abuse.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: “They ordered him to do medical tests, see a doctor, do bloodwork and X-rays and see a psychiatrist and that was all done the first week.

“Liam thought the trip would only last a few days but because of all the tests he ended up getting stuck there.”

The visa was eventually cleared and due to be stamped on Friday – just two days after Liam’s death from the balcony fall on Wednesday.

His renewed “non-immigration” visa would have allowed him to return to his new life in Florida to join his girlfriend at home in Miami.

Prosecutors say Liam appeared to have taken excessive amounts of booze and drugs – and they have linked his death to a probable psychotic episode.

Shocking pictures show his suite’s TV smashed as well as white powder, foil and a lighter strewn across the room.

Liam often spoke about the dark side of fame, revealing how the constant media attention and pressure from being in the spotlight took a significant toll on his mental health.

One of the more painful admissions from Liam’s interview was his battle with alcohol, which began during his time with the band.

As One Direction skyrocketed to fame, the group members were often confined to hotel rooms, where mini-bars were their only outlet.

“The best way to secure us was to lock us in our rooms, and what is in the room? A mini-bar,” the ex-1D band-member told the podcast.

“So I had a party-for-one that seemed to carry on for many years of my life.”

Liam was brutally honest about his health issues in recent years.

His journey through fame came with its costs as he disclosed that he had suffered from social anxiety and struggled to maintain his mental well-being while under immense pressure.

Despite the joyful moments of his meteoric rise to fame, Liam’s struggles with mental health, addiction, and the weight of his stardom were a constant undercurrent.

He had been working on his sobriety in recent years, candidly discussing his difficult relationship with alcohol.

He admitted that he spent time in a US wellness clinic after he “hit rock bottom”.

He also told how a mystery respiratory illness left him floored in 2021.

Liam admitted turning to alcohol and drugs to hide how he struggled to cope with One Direction’s dizzying levels of fame — which would spark panic attacks and high levels of exhaustion.

Meanwhile Love Island star Molly Marsh penned: “I’m so taken aback, rest in peace.”

James Cordon also paid his own tribute, describing the star as a “loving and kind soul”.

The Gavin and Stacey actor wrote on Instagram: “Talking about Liam in the past tense is utterly heart-breaking.

“I will treasure the moments I got to spend with him. My thoughts are with his family today x.”

Payne previously appeared on Cordon’s The Late Late Show in America.

Former Little Mix star Jade Thirwall – who won X Factor with her bandmates one year after One Direction took part – described him as “the first friend I made in this industry”.

She said: “We fell out of touch as the years went by, but back in 2008 he was the first friend I made in this industry.

“Both of us so young, so ambitious, both hoping we’d ‘make it’. I hope you are at peace now”.

Camila Cabello described his death as a “tragedy” and said he “made an impression” on her when she was a young girl.
