3 weeks agoNewsComments Off on I had an affair & my best friend exposed it – the worst bit is she’s a serial cheat herself
Most people trust their friends with their deepest secrets.
Unfortunately, one woman discovered the hard way that this isn’t always wise after her best friend spilled her secret to her daughter.
A mum has found herself in a tough decision after her affair secret got exposed[/caption]
The mum, who wishes to remain anonymous, confided in an “older woman” about her affair.
Now, she finds herself in a tough spot and has turned to the online forum Mumsnet for advice.
She wrote: “I would appreciate some advice. I confided in an older woman that I was having an affair.”
The mum explained that she trusted her friend completely, as the friend was married to a “serial cheat” and had multiple lovers over the years.
She continued: “I trusted her completely as she was the wife of a serial cheat and had herself many lovers over the years.
“To cut a long story short, she became enraged over an incident she believed I was involved in without hearing my side and called my 16-year-old daughter, telling her everything.
“All my deepest, darkest secrets.
“She also embellished quite a lot, making my daughter distraught.
“I’ve talked with my daughter and told her the truth on most matters. My husband doesn’t know, but I fear he suspects and will find out. Maybe this woman will tell him as well?”
In her plea for advice, the mum is grappling with the fallout of her friend’s betrayal and the potential impact on her family.
She continues: “Why would a woman in her mid 70’s do this wicked thing to a young girl?
“What should I do? Btw [by the way] she blocked me on all forms of communication.
“Do I confess (the affair has been over for two years now)?
“Or do I damage control by remaining silent?
“I’m guilty and horrible for allowing this to happen but my marriage of over 28 years has been sexless for almost 14 years.
“No excuse I know. Do I confess and run the risk of divorce or do I remain silent and pray I can make this go away?”
If you are not apologetic, then don’t apologise. Tell your truth
Mumsnet comment
The post gained lots of attention from other parents with many rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One suggested: “You must tell your DH (darling husband), because if you don’t then that burden is on your daughter’s shoulders.”
Another added: “You can not leave your daughter with the burden of knowing this and keeping it secret from her dad.
“That will be incredibly emotionally damaging.

They detailed the steps to take to install an excluder on your letterbox.
For this, you will need a drill with a small bit, a screwdriver, a spirit level, a pencil, a tape measure, and screws.
First, use your tape measure to measure the dimensions of your letterbox.
Choose between a brush strip of flap excluder, ensuring that it covers the gap in your letterbox.
Most excluders comes pre-assembled but if not, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to prep before installation.
Once it is ready, align the excluder with the bottom of the letterbox opening.
Make sure that it covers the entire width of your letterbox and extends slightly around it.
5 ways to keep your house warm in winter
Property expert Joshua Houston shared his tips.
1. Curtains
“Windows are a common place for the outside cold to get into your home, this is because of small gaps that can let in air so always close your curtains as soon as it gets dark,” he said.
This simple method gives you an extra layer of warmth as it can provide a kind of “insulation” between your window and curtain.
2. Rugs
“Your floor is another area of your home where heat can be lost and can make your home feel chilly,” he continued. “You might notice on cold days, that your floor is not nice to walk on due to it freezing your feet.
“Add rugs to areas that don’t already have a carpet, this provides a layer of insulation between your bare floor and the room above.”
3. Check your insulation
Check your pipes, loft space, crawlspaces and underneath floorboards.
“Loose-fill insulation is very good for this, and is a more affordable type of insulation, with a big bag being able to be picked up for around £30,” Joshua explained.
4. Keep your internal doors closed
“Household members often gather in one room in the evening, and this is usually either the kitchen or living room,” Joshua said.
“This means you only have to heat a small area of your home, and closing the doors keeps the heat in and the cold out.”
5. Block drafts
Don’t forget to check cat flaps, chimneys and letterboxes, as they can let in cold air if they aren’t secure
Next, hold the excluder in place while you use your spirit level to make sure it isn’t askew.
Mark your screw hole locations on the door and then drill the pilot holes.
Use your screws and screwdriver to attach the draught excluder to your letterbox.
Finally, test the flap on your excluder to ensure it fully covers your letterbox gap.
Following these steps will help to ensure your home’s is thermal efficiency this winter.

FRANCIS NGANNOU went from borrowing money as the MMA champion of the world to earning millions in the boxing ring.
He said: “Personal things, investment, having a house, building a house. I love houses, I love real estate.
“I come from a family that we never owned any house. We never had a house.
“Then my first thing was to build houses in different city and then maybe buy one wherever I’m living make some investment.
“Think of my future. Think of a potential retirement plan or in case things don’t work out.
“I’m doing a job that I have no guarantee, no insurance. I have no guarantee of the future of tomorrow, everything can stop right now.
“So yes, you think about that. When you think about that, you need to plan things out at least, like for 1,2,3 years or more in case s*** happens.
“So you have something you have some time to reset and start back. I think that’s what every single combat sports athlete should do.”
Ngannou left Cameroon when he was 26 for a better life, having began working in the sand mines from the age of just TEN.
It took him 14 months to go from his hometown of Batie to eventually France, where his journey as a fighter began.
Now, he is a former world champion with two huge paydays in the bank – but there was once a time when securing food to eat was his biggest problem.
He said: “There were days that when I wake up my only worry, my only concern was what I was going to eat that day. There were days like that in my life.
Ngannou used to work in the sand mines in Cameroon and often visits back[/caption]
Ngannou left Africa for Europe on foot[/caption]
It took him a year to emigrate[/caption]
“Basically growing up there were days that going to school, I worry because I didn’t have a pen to take notes or because I didn’t have a note, because my school tuition hasn’t been paid.
“So life evolved, doesn’t mean he was that bad day. I think it was just a process.
“Because at the end of the day, life is mostly a journey that you have to understand, enjoy the journey is not a destination.
“Because, if you set a destination and then you get to destination, then what’s happened? It’s the trusting the process.”
Ngannou, 38, sensationally dropped Fury, 36, on his boxing debut only to lose a controversial decision.
He then remained in boxing but was knocked out by Joshua, 34, in two rounds in March.
Areas of heavy rain are expected to develop and push north across the warning area, the Met Office warns.
Many places will see around 10-20 mm of rain, but there is a chance some locations may see considerably more than this over a six-hour period, most likely parts of southwest England and south Wales.
A few places may see 50-80 mm of rain fall in 6 hours.
Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in the south of the warning area, with lightning an additional hazard.
People in affected areas should check if their property could be at risk of flooding.
If so, they should consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.

Macheda, 33, played 36 times for the Red Devils between 2007 and 2014 – earning cult status for his debut wonder goal against Aston Villa.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the Italian confessed his shock at United letting McTominay go.
He said: “I know McTominay quite well. I was almost in the first team at Manchester United and he played for the U-16 side.
“Back then he didn’t have this physicality but you could see that he was a really good guy.
“I’m happy that he’s settling in well at Napoli and he’s doing it quickly. Changing league is not easy and the approach he had proves his will and ability to take on new challenges.
“He’s a jack of all trades as a footballer. He’s good at making offensive runs and helping the team off the ball. He’s a real worker and I’d define him as a fantastic signing.
“Conte’s presence made a lot. When a coach like him wants you in his team it’s hard to say no. I was surprised that Manchester United decided to sell him.
“He always did well there despite their recent complicated seasons. Without any doubt, leaving and going to Napoli was the right choice.”
Napoli are top of the Serie A table, having won five of their opening seven matches.
McTominay has played five times for his new side, scoring twice and laying on an assist.

LIAM Marshall and Junior Nsemba are set to cap their quadruple glory with England call-ups.
The Wigan pair are still celebrating Saturday’s Grand Final win over Hull KR, which sealed a historic awesome foursome of World Club Challenge, Challenge Cup, League Leaders’ Shield and Super League crown.
Now it is understood they will both be named in national boss Shaun Wane’s final squad for the Test series against Samoa, which is revealed today.
Back rower Nsemba was overlooked for the mid-season international in France because of a lack of experience.
But the 20-year-old has played his way into the two matches with a string of dominant domestic performances.
And winger Marshall is understood to have got his reward for a season that saw him score an astonishing 35 tries in 33 matches.
It may also see him finally earn an England cap after playing against Fiji in 2022 – a match for which they were not awarded.
Marshall, 28, is set to join NRL star Dom Young as a wing option for Wane as he chases revenge for the World Cup semi-final loss two years ago.

A CORONATION Street serial killer is making his soap comeback 13 years after terrifying soap fans with his murder spree.
The actor behind the character, who starred on the ITV Cobbles from 1998 until 2011, is back on the small screen this month.

The star has bagged a new role on BBC show Doctors[/caption]
Corrie villain John Stape was known for multiple murders and sleeping with Rosie Webster[/caption]
Now Graeme Hawley, 50, is switching Weatherfield for the hospital ward for a new role in BBC soap Doctors.
The John Stape star – who left fans gobsmacked with his transformation from high school teacher to one of Corrie’s most memorable murderers – will star as Jason Chapman next week.
Eagle-eyed soap fans can spot the Coventry-born TV personality in a 28-minute episode titled Sucker Punch, centred on the treatment of rape patient Erika.
It remains to be seen what his exact plot line is, and how long he will feature in the scripts.
Aside from Corrie, Graeme has also acted in Benidorm, National Treasure, Casualty and Love and Marriage.
STAPE SHOCK
Corrie’s John went from a teacher who had an affair with pupil Rosie Webster to a serial killer.
His character killed three fellow cast members in his hey-day and also kidnapped Rosie Webster, played by Helen Flanagan.
He concealed Colin Fishwick’s body after he died in front of him and then murdered Charlotte Hoyle when she tried to blackmail him about it.
John then accidentally smothered Colin’s mother to death as he confessed the truth.
He played the ex-teacher for four years after joining the cast on the cobbles in 2007 and was nominated for Villain of the Year in 2009 at the Soap Awards.
He was again nominated for the same award in 2011 after his murderous storyline came to a dramatic end with his suicide – which kept the nation hooked.
Yet his character is parent to Fiz’s daughter Hope, who remains on the show.
FRESH ROLE
We previously told how actor Graeme has temporarily stepped away from the small screen after struggling to find acting gigs.
