The Chase star Mark Labbett’s ex Hayley Palmer ‘growing close’ with millionaire MAFS groom after shock split

MARK Labbett’s ex Hayley Palmer is ‘growing close’ with millionaire MAFS groom Ben Jardine after her shock split from The Chase star.

It was just a few months ago that Hayley, 43, revealed she was dating a mystery man – teasing fans with a snap from one of their dinners.

But, while the TV star refused to reveal his identity at the time, The Sun has since learned it’s reality favourite Ben, 42, she’s been spending time with.

A source told us: “Since her split from Mark, Hayley’s been slowly finding her confidence again and Ben’s been a huge support.

“They’ve known each other for a while but things started to take off after he went to her birthday party in July and they’ve been growing closer ever since.

“They’ve even landed a presenting gig at The Boat Show comedy club together, which has given them the chance to really enjoy each other’s company.

“Right now, they’re just having lots of fun and seeing where things go, but there’s definitely a spark.”

Property tycoon Ben appeared on Married At First Sight all the way back in 2017, where he tied the knot with Stephanie Saint Remy.

The couple were the only newlyweds to survive the show.

However, they split soon after the cameras stopped rolling and Ben went on to welcome a little boy with yoga teacher, Silvia Sanchis.

Earlier this year, Hayley opened up on her previous relationship, revealing Mark brutally dumped her in a three-minute phone call.

Hayley and Mark dated for a year and seemed loved-up before their shocking split just days after their one-year anniversary in May.

The 6ft 7in quizzer, nicknamed The Beast, said he was ending their year-long romance because he did not want to divorce his ex Katie.

Hayley admitted she “didn’t know what happened” as they had just celebrated their first anniversary on May 16. with a trip to the beach in Southsea, Hants.

They spent time on a bench which was the same place they shared their first date, followed by a meal at Beefeater.

So Hayley had the wind taken out of her when he called things off in a brutal phone call just days later.

Hayley told us: “The call started off as a normal conversation.

“He was spending time with his son and we’d had a conversation about me joining them at a water park.

“Then he said, ‘I don’t know how to tell you this, but you were right. I don’t want to divorce my ex-wife’.

“The shock of the way he said it was so brutally cold and not the Mark I know.

“I thought he was a gentle giant, so this was the complete opposite.

“He was as cold as ice.”

Later at the National Reality TV Awards, Hayley opened up on the toll the split had taken on her and how she was looking forward to the future.

They had even appeared on ITV’s Loose Women days earlier and spoken about their relationship — and their future together.

In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Hayley said: “I think you go through stages of a break-up and it was…

“It was really hard to begin with and I couldn’t even get out of bed.”

Choking back tears, she continued: “But then I went through a stage when I was okay, then I went through a stage where I was bursting into tears the other week but now I’m like, ‘Hayley, let’s go, come on you bad b***h.'”

Quick bursts of exercise are ‘just as effective as gruelling workouts’ – 2 of the best moves to try now

DOING quick bursts of exercise can be just as effective as gruelling workouts, researchers say – finding that short bouts consume more oxygen than longer ones.

Getting your heart rate up for 10 to 30 seconds uses up more oxygen than doing the same exercise continuously, University of Milan Scientists found.

Seconds-long bursts of exercise use up more oxygen than doing an exercise continuously, scientists found[/caption]

They suggested that doing short bursts of exercise in the form of a short stroll or taking the stairs may in fact help burn more energy.

Getting a big payoff from minimal effort has been gaining traction when it comes to working out.

Methods like “exercise snacking” –  brief spurts of exertion spread throughout the day – have become increasingly popular, especially when it comes to undoing the damage of sitting at a desk all day.

A 2024 study published to the journal Sports Medicine and Health Science found that doing quick workouts lasting a minute or less throughout the day can boost cardiovascular fitness and muscular function.

Another from the Journal of Physiology found that workouts less than 15 minutes long could improve blood sugar control as well as heart and lung function.

Meanwhile, a separate study published in Nature Medicine journal, linked small amounts of vigorous physical activity interspersed throughout the day to a longer life.

The new study conducted by researchers at the University of Milan adds to the body of research supporting short exercise bursts.

Its authors asked 10 young and healthy participants to walk on a stair climber for bouts lasting 10, 30, 60, 90 and 240 seconds – amounting to four minutes.

Each bout was repeated twice in a random order.

The participants had their oxygen uptake measured for three minutes before each bout while they were sat down, and for seven minutes after each exercise burst.

Oxygen uptake – how much oxygen your body uses while exercising – is a tool commonly used to understand people’s fitness levels.

Researchers repeated the experiment with another 10 people, this time asking them to walk on a treadmill for for bouts lasting 10 to 240 seconds

They found that walking or climbing stairs in short 10- to 30-second bouts made people consume 20 to 60 per cent more oxygen, compared to doing it continuously for the same distance.

“Our findings indicate that shorter bouts have a substantially higher oxygen cost compared to longer ones,” they wrote.

The study authors said their findings showed that short bursts of exercise could be effective – especially if we’re inactive for much of the day.

Their experiments used the example of walking on a treadmill or stair-master, but you can replicate this outside of gym too.

“Breaking up sedentary time with brief strolls or taking the stairs can greatly increase energy expended daily and improve health”, the authors said.

What is exercise snacking?

Don't have the time to slog to the gym? No matter!

You can get plenty of bang for your buck by doing small snack-like workouts throughout the day.

“Exercise snacking refers to short bursts of exercise throughout the day,” Joanna Dase, Global Fitness Coach at Curves, told Sun Health.

“Think of it like grabbing a healthy snack for your body instead of sitting for extended periods.

“These mini workouts typically last anywhere between five and 10 minutes and can be done multiple times in a day.”

What are the benefits of exercise snacking?

Joanna said: “Consistently engaging in small amounts of physical activity throughout the day can accumulate and result in long-lasting benefits.

“By breaking up the time spent sedentary, it helps combat the negative effects associated with prolonged sitting, including an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure, depression and high cholesterol.

“As well as this, studies have shown that frequent movement helps boost energy levels and reduce fatigue.

“Exercise snacking is great for healthy habit building, as it encourages calorie building for weight management in a natural and sustainable way that takes off the pressure from long, tiresome exercise routines.

“It is a particularly effective approach if you’re a person who struggles to find time for longer workouts, and want to make exercise more achievable.”

Authors noted that exercise programmes based on short
walking bouts are often used to help treat people with obesity or who have reduced mobility after a stroke.

But it’s also useful for working exercise into your routine if you’re busy and don’t have time to hit the gym.

Sarah Campus, a personal trainer and founder of LDN Mums Fitness, previously told Sun Health: “One of the best things about exercise snacking is that it does not have to be particularly structured.”

She recommended four exercise snacks you can do at home – from squats, to lunges and even a little dance.

Mafs UK fans baffled by Richelle’s ‘bizarre accusation’ about Orson after calling him a ‘fraud’

MAFS UK fans have been left baffled by Richelle’s ‘bizarre accusation’ about Orson, after calling him a ‘fraud.’

TV bride Richelle hit out at the show recently, after being slammed by viewers for her behaviour towards her husband Orson.

Earlier on in the series Richelle claimed Orson wasn’t “a strong man”[/caption]

One on-air jibe saw her branding Orson, 41, “that cretin” after he wrote he wanted to “stay” in their marriage at the latest commitment ceremony, and she missed her daughter’s birthday for filming.

Earlier on in the series, Richelle claimed Orson wasn’t “a strong man”, and she told him: “What would your boys think of you crying on TV?”

But in a recent series, Mafs viewers were left shocked as fans questioned why Orson’s business “wasn’t on Companies House.”

As they engaged in a tense conversation while on a retreat with the other brides and grooms, Richelle said: “Orson, is it fine for you to lie? Let’s talk about your lies Orson.”

She went on: “You’re a little liar. You’re a fraud. Did I ask you if your business was registered on Companies House?

“You’re not even registered on Companies House.”

Orson shot back: “I don’t have time for you,” as he walked away from the conversation.

Richelle continued: “You said you were, and you’re a fraud and I’ve seen through you.”

Fans were left baffled by Richelle’s ‘bizarre’ accusation, as one person wrote on X: “Who on earth checks on companies house to use that in an argument?”

A second person said: “Not Richelle looking on Companies House for Orson’s company. Literally lost for words.”

A third person penned: “Well that wasn’t on my bingo card,” after sharing Richelle’s comment.

Another echoed: “You’re not even on Companies House. What kind of insult is that?”

Someone else wrote: “That is the most bizarre accusation I ever heard.”

Married at First Sight UK 2024

Here's who you can expect in the Mafs 2024 cast:

During the series, dramatic scenes and mud-slinging led to Richelle being heavily trolled on social media and bombarded with death threats.

In response, Richelle has now accused bosses of misrepresenting her through selective editing and she threatened “the truth will come out”.

She later posted a screenshot suggesting that three call logs had been deleted from a conversation she alleged was with a member of the MAFS team.

She added: “Lesson of the day: Always back up your chat history. Worts and all.”

Richelle posted another comment from a supportive fan, that said: “What the producers are doing is actually dangerous and defamatory”.

When contacted by The Sun, a representative for MAFS said: “MAFS UK episodes depict a fair and accurate reflection of the events that happened during filming.

“All contributors have the support of a dedicated welfare team, including a psychologist, before, during and after filming the series”.

Richelle previously let slip that something had happened between Orson and another bride on the show.

Fresh claims circulating today claimed that he takes up with new bride Hannah.

Last week The Sun told how furious Richelle told viewers what happened – after she cruelly trolled by viewers for her behaviour towards Orson.

She accused Orson of trying to recouple with another bride, telling fans: “People will see the truth. It’s a waiting game.”

The bombshell is set to be revealed in an upcoming commitment ceremony and will leave the cast blindsided.

Thomas Tuchel’s England salary revealed with new manager set to sign bumper 18-month contract

THOMAS TUCHEL is set to earn a pretty penny as England manager.

The former Bayern Munich and Chelsea manager agreed to take charge of the Three Lions this week following rapid negotiations with the FA.

And he’s set to earn a boatload of cash for the gig[/caption]

Tuchel, 51, will be officially announced as the nation’s third-ever foreign manager on Wednesday afternoon.

The veteran coach will fill the void left by Gareth Southgate following his resignation after England‘s heartbreaking Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.

And he’s on course to earn a similarly jaw-dropping amount as Southgate did to coach the national team.

SunSport understands Tuchel – who has inked an 18-month deal with the FA – is set to take home a cool £5MILLION A YEAR as Three Lions chief.

It’s a drastic pay cut, however, in comparison to the £10m-a-year deal he was on during his time in charge of Chelsea – who he managed for 20 months before being sacked in September 2022.

England have been under the temporary leadership of Under-21s manager Lee Carsley following Southgate’s summer departure.

The 50-year-old will remain in the role until January when Tuchel officially takes charge.

ANDY DILLON: Thomas Tuchel has all the ingredients to become a classic England manager – tactical nous, drive and a tangled love life

By Andy Dillon

THOMAS TUCHEL possesses all the ingredients to become a classic England manager.

Tactical nous, drive, energy, experience – a tangled love life.

English football should welcome back the most explosive, dynamic, charismatic and impossibly tall and gangly coach to have lit up the Premier League.

Chelsea’s colourful former boss has been leading a settled life in Munich of late.

Far enough away from ex-wife Sissi but close enough to see his two daughters.

Walking his dog in the streets in the east of Germany’s most fashionable city, residing in the posh Bogenhausen area. Living relatively quietly with his Brazilian girlfriend.

Tuchel is a vastly different personality to the man who led England quietly but assuredly to the brink of World Cups and European Championships.

An excitable nature can make him hard to handle for those seeking calm and who like to impose their way on a manager they view very much as an underling.

Read more on why Tuchel REALLY IS the best man for the England job

Carsley ruled himself out of the running to permanently replace Southgate last week, revealing his ambition to return to his previous role.

He said: “I have been doing the Under-21s and I am really happy with my job.

“I am an employee of the FA and I was asked to take the senior team which is a privilege, it was the proudest moment of my career.

“I am really honoured with the chance to manage the senior team.

“I am in a really fortunate position in that I am on the inside and I can see how much potential this team’s got.

“It is one of the best jobs in world football. There aren’t many jobs where you’ve got a chance of winning.

“I believe the coach that comes in has got a really good chance of winning and we deserve the best one that’s out there.”
