PICKERINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) – A Chinese restaurant known for its hand-pulled noodles has opened in Pickerington.
Xi Xia Western Chinese Cuisine opened its second eatery at 1722 Hill Road North in late August. The restaurant’s debut location opened in 2018 at 1140 Kenny Centre Mall in the Knolls West neighborhood. The eatery serves hotpots, fried noodles, dumplings, fried rice, noodle soups and more.
“We make a very unique type of food,” owner Daniel Huo said. “It’s a Chinese restaurant, but it’s not like the typical General Tso’s chicken, Kung Pao chicken type. We have our specialty, which is the noodles.”
While the two locations’ menus are mostly the same, the Pickerington restaurant offers exclusive appetizers, such as fried dumplings, crab rangoons and coconut lava balls. Huo said the restaurant’s most popular item is the Xi Xia Stirred Noodles, and named the Xi Xia Beef Noodles Soup as another fan-favorite.
Huo said the original restaurant has regular customers who travel from across the state, and even Pennsylvania. He opened the second noodle shop in Pickerington to help introduce Xi Xia’s cuisine to more people.
“People here have been eating here for years,” Huo said. “They [have] never complained about the quality, never complain about the service, because that’s what we like to look at the most.”
Xi Xia’s Pickerington eatery is open Thursday through Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
