BBC Two will screen The Omen straight after Newsnight wraps at 11:05pm.

The 1976 hit, which grossed over $60million at the box office, stars Gregory Peck, Harvey Spencer Stephens and Lee Remick.

It sees Gregory’s character swap his wife’s stillbirth baby with an orphane, but as the child grows up sinister things start to unfold.

Since its release a number of sequels have been released in the franchise, such as The First Omen.

Meanwhile, there’s even more spookiness over on ITV1 as they screen The Mummy.

The action-horror was released in 2017 and stars movie legend Tom Cruise as well as Sofia Boutella and Russell Crowe.

A synopsis reads: “An ancient Egyptian princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.”

Despite its stellar lineup, critic reviews were unfavourable and it managed a jaw-dropping 15% Rotten Tomatoes score.

However, it still grossed an incredible $410million at the box office.

The film airs directly after the ITV evening news bulletin at 10:45pm.
