SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt revealed that former Kaizer Chiefs winger Keagan Dolly trained with the club.
The 33-year-old parted ways with Amakhosi end of June after his contract had expired. Since then, the former Bafana Bafana star has been without a club.
In August, it was revealed that Dolly passed his medical at Matsatsantsa but Hunt chose to sign Vincent Pule instead. Another player who trained with the Tshwane giants is Khama Billiat but the ex-Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns star was not successful and eventually went back to Zimbabwe.
Speaking to Peter du Toit on SoccerBeat, Hunt revealed that Dolly trained with his team but the club had no intention of signing him for now.
“Ja, he phoned me a couple of weeks ago and I think his agent said there’s something on the go and he needs to get fit, so I said ‘well why don’t you ask Kaizer Chiefs’,” Hunt joked.
Hunt says Dolly needs to get into shape
“So he phoned me up and he is about done a week or two you know. We have such a small squad so I can include him you know certainly if we have 11 vs 11, he can play in the opposition.”
Hunt said he was impressed by Keagan Dolly during the training session.
“He has been good, the touches are good, he obviously needs to get fit but I’m not sure what’s happening with him. He said he’s going to get a move and go somewhere,” said the SuperSport coach.
Should SuperSport give Dolly a chance this season?
