EastEnders legend Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) was left horrified after receiving the shocking news that Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) had taken his own life in recent scenes.
Pastor Clayton was arrested earlier this year for the sexual assault of Yolande, as well as other women who attended his church over the years.
With an investigation against him, Yolande was shocked to discover that he had died, especially after having asked her to withdraw her statement.
Unable to sleep, Yolande later confided in Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) that all she had wanted was for Pastor Clayton to admit what he had done, and acknowledge the pain he’d caused, but that she didn’t want him dead.
Patrick was quick to admit that he was glad the Pastor was gone, and reasoned that he was probably afraid of facing justice for his crimes.
Yolande then admitted how she hoped she could find the strength to pray for him, and that it would help her to move on.
Later, Yolande was surprised to get a knock at the door, and soon came face to face with the Pastor’s wife, Stella.
Stella revealed that she had a voice note from her husband that she couldn’t bear to open, but Yolande encouraged her to play it, hoping it would bring some closure to them both.
However, the voice note consisted of Pastor Clayton insisting that he was innocent, something that left Yolande devastated as she realised she would never get him to admit the truth about what he’d done.

This storyline is set to continue, with actor Jaden Ladega stopping to tell us all about it at the Inside Soap Awards earlier this week.
‘I can say that it’s going to be a good one,’ he teased. ‘It’s always great to do scenes with Aunty Yo and Howard, who plays Pastor Clayton. I can say that there is going to be some very juicy stuff!’
