Former EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood has landed a role in a new Christmas film.

The actor, 40, is best known for his role as Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb in the BBC soap, who he originally played from 2010 to 2015.

After competing on Dancing on Ice earlier this year, Ricky is now set to appear in Jingle All the Slay.

The film, written by Charley McDougall, will also star Nick Sagar and Alexa Adeosun, Deadline reports.

Ricky previously shared the screen with them in The Princess Switch film series.

Jingle All the Slay will tell the story of a hitman, who has one last chance to save his marriage and is determined to host the perfect family Christmas at a luxurious lake mansion. While his profession is a secret from his family, when he becomes wanted by the government, he has to fend off waves of holiday-themed hitmen who descend on the mansion.

A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

Since leaving EastEnders, Ricky also appeared in the 18th series of Celebrity Big Brother, where he finished runner-up.

He gave soap fans a shock last year when he made a ‘shock return from the dead’ as he reprised his role as Fatboy in EastEnders during a flashback episode going back to 2014 last year.

While his character was seemingly killed off in 2015, fans never saw a body, and there has been plenty of speculation over the years that Fatboy could still be alive.

Ricky recently revealed he would be open to returning to EastEnders, telling RadioTimes earlier this year: ‘They’ve had a year full of great storylines,’ he ‘Christmas was fantastic. So if they ever needed Fatboy back in the Square, all they’ve got to do is give me a call.’
