Black Brain Pictures’ telenovela Isiphetho: Destiny has been canned.
‘ISIPHETHO: DESTINY’ ENDS
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela announces that e.tv’s Isiphetho: Destiny has been cancelled.
“The new Black Brain Pictures produced telenovela will not be renewed for a second season. The current season will end on April 4th, 2025, on e.tv,” says Mphela.
The show recently introduced Sindi Dlathu’s character, Zanemvula, a woman of God with an axe to grind against the Zondo sisters, Connie (Gugu Gumede) and Blondie (Linda Sokhulu).
Zanemvula’s ex-husband, Zwelakhe is played by Mojatsi Mbhele while her daughter is played by Mbalenhle Mvimbela.
Dlathu’s former Queendom co-star, Themba Ndaba also recently joined the show as
Bheki “Gwinyitshe” Sibanyoni.
TVSA reports that Ndaba’s character is a polygamist who wants to shack up with Connie and Blondie while messing with Zwelakhe’s mind.
The telenovela, which is set in the heart of Soweto, amidst the vibrant community of Mzimhlope follows the lives of four friends who were bound by a life-changing secret during their teenage years.
E.TV VIEWERS: REACT
@Sinelizwi_: “Yhoo is that why the billboard just before Olifantsfontein off ramp was taken down yesterday?”
@kholimad: “Not surprised, storyline very hard to follow.”
@ht4211: “E.tv shows need to follow Mzansi Magic shows and upload all episodes and DStv catch-up. There is so many shows to watch and little time, putting all episodes gives viewers a chance to follow the whole story and they become invested. Not everyone is sitting in front of a TV at 18:30.”
@kamogelolesley1: “They must put smoke and mirrors on that slot and put Isitha on the 9pm slot simple.”
@ReubenManiac: “This show had no proper storyline; actors can’t act their characters. Everything was forced. We move to another one.”
