Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Billiat excited to be back in South Africa!

Former Kaizer Chiefs star attacker Khama Billiat is back in South Africa for the first time since leaving for Zimbabwe.

Billiat had not set foot in South Africa since signing for Yadah SC in his native land in February 2024.

He signed for Yadah following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs.

Billiat delayed his return to Zimbabwe in an attempt to secure a move within the South African PSL but he was never fortunate enough.

He tried his luck with SuperSport United weeks after leaving Kaizer Chiefs but he was never signed.

Now, having come out of retirement at an international stage in August 2024, Billiat is back in the Warriors setup.

And they have been preparing for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches at Wits.

Zimbabwe face Namibia at Orlando Stadium on TODAY, (Thursday) before playing the same opponents at the same venue next week.

Speaking to The Herald, Billiat expressed delight at being back in South Africa while speaking highly of Yadah chairman Prophet Walter Magaya.

“I am excited with this opportunity and to be back in South Africa where I spent the better part of my playing career,” said Billiat.

“I am grateful to Prophet Walter Magaya who gave me another chance at his team Yadah where I have reinvigorated myself and called back from international retirement.

“I just came to Yadah because I wanted to play football again but the leadership qualities shown by Prophet Magaya actually made me to work extra hard.

“It is him who also played a huge role in convincing me to come out of international retirement. And here I am, back in the fold again.”
