Among the major festivals of Hinduism, Shardiya Navratri occurs every year in the month of Ashwin, giving the opportunity for worship to nine forms of Maa Durga, such as Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. This is done so that while keeping fasts, the blessings from Maa Durga can be received. As per religious theories, all wishes of a devotee get fulfilled and happiness and prosperity are achieved if anyone keeps fast on Navratri.
Sharadiya Navratri 2024 – This year, Shardiya Navratri will start from 3rd October 2024 and continue till 11th October 2024. Durga Visarjan will be on 12th October. Auspicious Yogas: For Navratri Puja, different yogas are formed, among which Aindra Yoga is most prominent. The first day of Navratri is the arrival day of Mother Durga. So, Kalash Sthapana will be special on this day. Ghata Sthapana will be performed in the auspicious time from 6:15 am to 7:22 am.

Religious programs like Garba, Dandiya, and Ramlila are arranged here. During Navratri, devotees worship Maa Durga with all their heart, and special preparations are made for this.
Maa Durga shall come in a palanquin this time. It is said in Devi Purana that one who rides a palanquin is auspicious. However, some believe that this may turn out to be a partial epidemic and other calamities in the arrival of Maa Durga on a palanquin. There are different modes of transport for Maa Durga as worshipped in the nine days of Navratri who ride on different vehicles.
