A WOMAN who has been celibate for seven years has double-downed on her reason why.
Alexis, like many of us, grew tired of trying to date and decided to give up altogether.

Like Sacha on MAFS’, she was waiting for the right man[/caption]
She revealed all to Truly about why she gave up sex at the age of 30 and why she doesn’t feel like she’s missing out.
Alexis said: “I was fed up with dating, so I decided to become celibate. I have currently been celibate for about seven years now.
“I decided to become celibate due to spiritual development, tired of the dating apps, and just decided to focus solely on my spiritual growth.”
Just like Sacha Jones, a star on this year’s Married at First Sight UK, Alexis has chosen to wait to find the right person for sex.
Sacha revealed on the show: “I have traditional values so I’ve decided to go celibate until I meet the one, I will not settle for anyone that isn’t my husband.
“It’s something that I do when I’m ready to be serious about someone and I don’t just want to give them something that I consider to be really precious.”
While Alexis loves her life and hanging out with her girl friends, she revealed the cruel comments she gets about her journey since sharing it on social media.
Some of the nasty comments include: ‘I cannot see one single reason why this would be of interest to anybody.’ ‘Another attention seeker.’ ‘She has no idea what she’s missing out on.’
Shockingly, Alexis revealed she’s also received threats of sexual assault – all because she chooses to abstain from sex until she meets the right guy.
She revealed that she currently doesn’t miss sex – partially due to her diagnosis with endometriosis which impacts her day-to-day life and can make sex painful.
She revealed that her celibacy is a different mindset to how she was in her twenties – and that now, when she goes on dates men tend to not follow up when she tells them.
“After revealing that I am celibate, guys do share that they no longer want to pursue anything,” revealed Alexis.
Speaking of the trolls who judge her, Alexis added: “To say the least, they need a life check because my decision shouldn’t impact your day-to-day movement in your life.”
The clip shared on YouTube went viral with over 17,000 views and people were quick to praise Alexis for putting herself first.
