Kaizer Chiefs coach Nabi has praised several youngsters before their Carling Knockout quarter-final against Sundowns. However, he’s made a bold transfer promise involving experienced stars.
Chiefs boss admires the youngsters but wants more experience
Tunisian manager Nasreddine Nabi has strongly hinted that the club will bolster the squad with experienced players in January. Chiefs are preparing for a titanic Carling Knockout quarter-final tussle with Sundowns. The sides meet on Saturday 02 November at 18:00 from FNB Stadium.
“Those (young) players are capital for Kaizer Chiefs, and great capital. We need to complete the team with players with experience and quality to make even the youngsters grow with them and make Chiefs reach better places.
“This doesn’t mean we want to put those youngsters aside. We want to bring in players with quality and experience to complement the youngsters and give the team a good balance.”
Chivaviro to get some help up top?
According to Soccer-Laduma, Amakhosi could revisit interest in the experienced Kenyan legend Olunga to complement Ranga Chivaviro up top. They also want to sign a new winger to allow Gaston Sirino to operate in the number 10 role when Mduduzi Shabalala needs a rest.
“You see at the moment the Fiston Mayele mission looks impossible because after losing Fagrie Lakay, Pyramids FC don’t want to lose Mayele as well. That’s why Chiefs are now looking at Michael (Olunga) for January as well. So they are revisiting that interest. They feel it will be much easier getting Michael at this point than to stay on the Mayele chase,” said one source.
Sirino and Miguel should return against Sundowns
After sitting out the 2-2 draw with Magesi because of an accumulation of yellows, impressive Angolan Inacio Miguel should take his place again alongside Rushwin Dortley in the heart of defence defence. Wandile Duba and Samkelo Zwane are also potential returnees. It’s highly like Gaston Sirino will be picked against his old side after making a cameo appearance off the bench against Magesi. Two-goal hero from that game, Mdu Shabalala, will start in the number 10 position.
Predicted XI: Ntwari; Frosler, Miguel, Dortley, Cross; Zwane, Blom; Duba, Shabalala, Sirino; Chivaviro.
