Kaizer Chiefs news: Ranga safe despite Nabi’s striker search?

Kaizer Chiefs marksman Ranga Chivaviro is reportedly safe from a possible axe despite Nasreddine Nabi’s search for a quality striker.

Nabi is on record to say Amakhosi are looking for a high quality striker to help his team score more goals.

Kaizer Chiefs never signed a striker in the recently closed transfer after failed attempts to sign a number of forwards.

Khanyisa Mayo and Fiston Mayele were top of Kaizer Chiefs’ priority list alongside Percy Tau as per the reports.

However, none of those players joined Kaizer Chiefs as Mayo moved to CR Belouizdad while Tau and Mayele remained in Egypt.

Now, according to Soccer Laduma, Chivaviro, who came under scrutiny last season is likely to be offered a new two-year deal in January.

Chivaviro’s contract with Kaizer Chiefs expires in June 2025, but having scored two goals already this term, things look promising.

Last season, Chivaviro scored just four goals after all the hype around his acquisition from Marumo Gallants.

As things stand, Kaizer Chiefs have Chivaviro, Ashley du Preez and Wandile Duba as their trusted strikers.

KAIZER CHIEFS TO OFFER RANGA NEW TWO-YEAR DEAL?

“After a good start to the new season, Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be open to initiate negotiations with striker Ranga Chivaviro for a new contract that will keep him at the club beyond his current deal which expires in June 2025,” reads part of the report.

“Siya sources close to the club have indicated that Amakhosi are looking to offer the former Marumo Gallants striker an additional two-year deal, which would see him stay at Nature a until June 2027.”
