Kaizer Chiefs supporters love the boy to bits. Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Linda Buthelezi seemingly feels the same way.
KAIZER CHIEFS STAR SAMKELO ZWANE FOR BAFANA BAFANA SAYS LINDA BUTHELEZI
As reported last weekend, Amakhosi beat a feisty SuperSport United 4-0 in Polokwane to advance to the Carling Knockout quarterfinal. The same game saw the 22-year-old Samkelo Zwane deliver his best-ever performance in a Kaizer Chiefs jersey.
According to Buthelezi, Zwane has a big future with Kaizer Chiefs and has the quality to replace Sphephelo Sithole at Bafana Bafana.
“I still say Zwane can shine and be a star at Kaizer Chiefs if he can be given a chance, just like Jayden Adams,” Buthelezi told FARPost.
“That boy can be a leader one day as long as he can be given time. What a brilliant passer, what a thinker, his strength and all that. He can compete with [Sphephelo] Sithole. He is a good replacement for Sithole.
“As a midfielder, you need to have a character. I don’t care whether they like you or not, but you must have a character for the team. These are team players, and you must be a team player,” Buthelezi concluded on the Kaizer Chiefs midfielder.
KAIZER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE CEDRIC KAZE
As reported in July, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi lost his assistant, Fernando Da Cruz, on the eve of the season. After a prolonged wait, Amakhosi have found an African star coach.
After previously working with coach Nabi at Young Africans in Tanzania Cedric Kaze has reunited with the Tunisian mentor in Soweto.
“Kaizer Chiefs have appointed Cedric Kaze as the new assistant coach. This strategic addition to coach Nasreddine Nabi’s technical team aims to bolster the Club’s performance and aspirations for the season,” the club confirmed.
“Burundi-born Kaze brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the set-up, having previously worked alongside Nabi at Young Africans, where they achieved significant success together, winning six trophies in two seasons. His tactical expertise and experience in various coaching roles makes him a perfect fit to complement Nabi’s vision for the team.
“The 45-year-old has an impressive CV, which includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Science, CAF A licence, as well as a German Football Federation A licence. He was named coach of the year for East and Central Africa in 2012.
“Kaze worked with the national teams in Burundi, where he started as an assistant coach for the U17 team in 2007, and became an assistant coach to the senior team, then coach for the U20s and U23s until he left for Canada in 2015.
“In Canada, he worked for a youth football training institution before he moved to the FC Barcelona Academy where he worked for two and half years.
“He has worked as a head coach in Burundian, Rwandan and Tanzanian domestic football, where he was also a Technical Director,” Kaizer Chiefs concluded.
