LEWIS CENTER, Ohio (WCMH) — A locally owned, fast-casual Mediterranean chain has expanded its footprint in central Ohio.
Agapé Mediterranean is now welcoming customers to its newest location at 6589 Artesian Run in Lewis Center, according to the company’s site. The opening expands the company to five central Ohio eateries, with the other locations in Gahanna, Sunbury, Westerville and Plain City, and a sixth coming to Grandview Heights.
Launched in 2021, the Greek restaurant is home to a selection of pitas, salads and bowls. Filling include gyro meat, chicken shawarma, falafel, hummus, feta, tzatziki, Kalamata olives, chickpeas and more. Sauces, like tahini and vinaigrette, round out the menu, along with french fries topped with feta and a house dressing.
The chain gets its name for a concept derived from the ancient Greeks that embodies “doing good for one another,” the company’s site states.
Med-Mix Grill, another fast-casual Mediterranean eatery, also recently launched. The restaurant opened inside the former home of Fat Girl Bakery, a confectionary that was known for vibrant cakes, cookies and cupcakes. The bakeshop closed in March after it had relocated from its Lewis Center storefront in May of 2023.
Agapé is one of several new food offerings opening in Lewis Center, including Another Broken Egg Café taking over the building once home to a Panera that closed several years ago. The spot will mark the brand’s second central Ohio location after the first opened at Easton Town Center in 2022, also inside a former Panera.
Sexton’s Pizza, a pizzeria chain owned by central Ohio brothers, is expanding with a new restaurant in Lewis Center’s Evans Farms development. The pizzeria will mark the fourth for owners Joey and Jamey Sexton, who also operate a store in Gahanna at 943 E. Johnstown Road, in Hilliard at 5460 Franklin St., and in Harrison West at 360 W. Third Ave.
First Watch has launched its 12th central Ohio location in Lewis Center earlier this summer. The 4,600-square-foot location is the brand’s first new Central Ohio eatery since opening a Sawmill location along Dublin Center Drive in late 2022.
