Manie Libbok has seemingly laughed – or rather danced – in the face of his critics following a phenomenal performance that helped the Springboks beat Argentina to claim the Rugby Championship title.
The match took place at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday, 28 September.
This week, the flyhalf became the victim of nasty trolls who criticised his kicking abilities following last week’s loss in Santiago.
MANIE LIBBOK DOES ‘VICTORY DANCE’
In a clip posted on social media, Manie Libbok was seen doing a little dance after the final whistle blew, signalling the Springboks’ victory against Argentina.
Manie was joined by Aphelele Fassi, whom he assisted in scoring a try during the game. The duo both showed off their moves to the crowd before embracing each other.
RUGBY CRITICS EAT THEIR WORDS
On social media, many Manie Libbok fans demanded Springbok critics apologise to the flyhalf after mercilessly mocking him.
@Mawandinho: “Last week, there were people who said Manie Libbok’s Springbok career was over. I’m so happy it’s only taken seven days to prove they were very wrong.
@sarcastic_cuwan: “The apology better be as loud as the disrespect.”
@Thato0601: “Libbok is a perfect example of when your coach believes in you so much that nobody’s opinion matters. He knows what he is capable of, and that is why he is in that squad.”
DEFENDED BY COACH SIYA KOLISI
Ahead of the match, Springboks captain Siya Kolisi revealed that both he and the team were 100% behind Manie Libbok.
The proud player said of his colleague, “I talk to Manie all the time. He is my general.”
Singing Manie’s praises, Siya continued: “He’s the most important guy in our team, whether we’re attacking, kicking or where we’re going with the game.
“He knows that every single guy in the team is backing him.”
