LITHOPOLIS, Ohio (WCMH) — Investigators have found an abducted 2-month-old boy at the center of a statewide Amber Alert Tuesday, but haven’t said if they found the suspect accused of taking him.
Law enforcement reported that at 3:25 p.m. the suspect, 27-year-old Russell Burris, took the infant during a domestic dispute in Lithopolis. The pair were last seen leaving in a silver 2009 Honda Accord with the license plate KJC3489.
A spokeswoman for Columbus police confirmed to NBC4 at 5:38 p.m. that the missing infant had been dropped off in the area of Lachlan Landings Drive, a street north of Groveport and nearly a 20-minute drive from where they initially disappeared. However, Columbus police did not have information on the suspect and were responding to the area where the infant was located.
Law enforcement noted they had reason to suspect the infant was in danger at the time of the abduction. Burris has blonde hair and blue eyes, and is 5’11” tall and around 170 lbs. The suspect also has a Playboy Bunny tattoo on his right hand.
Law enforcement said the car that Burris took the child in has dark, tinted windows and damage to its rear. There were possibly two other passengers in the car at the time of the abduction.
Investigators have canceled the Amber Alert, but asked anyone who spots the car or Burris to call 911.
