Mkhwebane called out for joining MK Party after vowing to never betray EFF

Former public protector advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane says Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member of Parliament Carl Niehaus is in no position to be lecturing anyone on conduct, choices, ethics and morality.

This comes as Niehaus accused Mkhwebane of betrayal as she ditched the EFF and joined her husband David Skosana at uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party where she has been appointed the convenor in Mpumalanga, her home province.

BUSISIWE MKHWEBANE CLAPS BACK AT CARL NIEHAUS OVER EFF DEPARTURE

On 16 October, Mkhwebane who joined the Red Berets after she was impeached in September 2023 confirmed her resignation, saying she wants to rest and spend time with her family.

Unsurprisingly, on Friday, 25 October, the MK Party confirmed that Mkhwebane and former KwaZulu-Natal premier Willies Mchunu who also ditched the African National Congress (ANC) recently have joined the party.

“I joined the MK Party because I felt that it’s the home which understands the persecution of the black people, the oppression, and the challenges which we are facing in fighting the captured system,” she said.

Mkhwebane’s move to join the MK Party did not sit well with another Zuma ally Carl Niehaus who took to X (formerly Twitter) and accused her of betrayal.

“Busisiwe Mkhwebane, I am deeply disappointed in you. When that other betrayer [Floyd Shivambu] left the EFF, you posted on X that, ‘I will never betray the fighters my political home’, and then barely a month later when you resigned, you denied that you are joining MK Party, and now this! Your word is not your honour! You talk with a forked tongue,” he posted on X.

Niehaus further accused Mkhwebane of abusing the good will and support of the EFF and its leader Julius Malema.

“It is also matter of public record how I supported you when you were persecuted and impeached. Now I feel like a bloody fool, and it is not a good feeling to feel used, lied to, and betrayed. This is now your legacy. Sies!”

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Mkhwebane hit back at Niehaus saying he is the last person to be lecturing anyone on conduct, choices, ethics and morality as he has his fair share of shenanigans.

The former public protector shared an article about the fraud and corruption Niehaus allegedly committed while he was a member of the ANC.

DO YOU THINK BUSISIWE MKHWEBANE WILL STILL BE A MEMBER OF THE MK PARTY BY THE END OF 2025?
