FLAMBARDS Theme Park in Helston, Cornwall, announced its sudden closure this morning.

The post reads: “It is with great regret we have to announce Flambards Theme Park will close its doors permanently with immediate effect.
“This difficult decision was reached only after all possible avenues had been exhausted and we fully recognise the impact of this closure on the local community and the sense of loss that it may bring,
“Despite significant and ongoing investment since its rescue from closure in 2012 by the current owners, rising costs and a steady decline in visitor numbers have made the park’s operation and further investment unsustainable.
“Over the years, Flambards has strived to evolve, overcoming numerous challenges to continue bringing joy to families and visitors from across the region.”
Fans have been left devastated by the closure, with one writing: “Flambards will always have a place in my heart, I went on my first roller coaster here.”
The theme park’s closure will not impact the Masked Ball, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday November 9, 2025.
And Ferdi’s Funland, an indoor play centre housed inside the grounds of the theme park, is slated to re-open as a standalone attraction later this month, on November 17, 2025.
The news comes just months after theme park bosses announced the closure of four rides.
The Thunderbolt, Sky Swinger, SkyForce and The Hornet Rollercoaster were all retired by due to an “ongoing shortage of specialist parts”.
Following the closure of the four rides, the theme park was forced to reduce the cost of its entry tickets to just £14.95 – making it one of the most affordable in the UK.
A study by saving experts BravoVoucher found that the average cost per ride was just £1.09.
Last year, Time Out described Flambards as “one of the UK’s most underrated theme parks”.
Flambards first opened to the public in 1976 as Cornwall Aero Park.
The Cornish theme park added more rides to its line-up in the late 1970s and the 1980s.
It was renamed Flambards in 1990 after a popular TV show.
