Rhythm World’s latest Sunday night drama series Queen Modjadji has disappointed Mzansi Magic viewers.
‘QUEEN MODJADJI’ ENDS
Entertainment commentator Jabu McDonald reveals that Queen Modjadji will officially end on Sunday, 29 September.
Mzansi Magic fans took to McDonald’s post to celebrate the ending of the series as the storyline was a disappointment.
The show also saw the biggest decline in viewership in August when it received 584 264 viewers in July and dropped to 409k viewers in August, according to TVSA July and BRCSA’s August figures.
The show also failed to make the top 30 most-watched shows of the month.
Queen Modjadji tells the story of the Rain Queen, the ruling monarch for the Balobedu people in Limpopo, and her ancestors.
The show stars Wiseman Zitha, Makoma Mohale, Putla Sehlapelo, Sipho Ndlovu and more stars.
Other cast members include Helen Lebepe as Raisibe, Ngelekanyo Ramulodi, who portrays Young Queen Modjadji.
It also stars beauty queens Shudu Musida and Ndavi Nokeri, who hail from the Limpopo province play queens in the drama series.
Nokeri portrays Muthanoni Khensani, who is one of the wives from the Tsonga Royal Family. While Musida portrays Muthanoni Mulalo, another wife of the wives from the Venda Royal Family.
MZANSI MAGIC FANS SLAM DRAMA SERIES
@Anne_Ngwenya: “I was really looking forward to this series, but it wasn’t easy watching even though I never missed an episode. So many gaps, I’ve got to many questions still.”
@Mangilicous_: “Too many characters, so ended up confusing me with the language and point of the story nje. Production and props were good but lacked a story.”
@mykhails: “This show was nonsense. I had high hopes for it. Took away nothing from it. It was all about boloi throughout. I failed to see or understand clearly how that kingdom got to be and how it fits with the present-day world. Ai, we should stick to Zulu stories from now on!!!”
@Busisiwe_N_M_: “To be honest, I am disappointed in this show. What a boring series.”
