Radio and TV presenter Criselda Kananda has shared a heartfelt tribute to the late Ray McCauley, founder of Rhema Bible Church, who died this week.
For the media personality, this included the man of God accepting her HIV status. Criselda is one of many celebrities who maintained a close friendship with the popular pastor.
According to a statement by his family, his funeral will take place on Saturday, 20 October.

On her social media accounts, Criselda Kananda paid tribute to Ray McCauley, who died “peacefully” in his home while surrounded by his loved ones.
Although his family did not disclose his cause of death, it is believed that the Rhema Bible Church pastor suffered from health challenges in recent months.
Criselda posted: “I know he has gone home to live eternally with no more pain. Yet I feel a deep sense of loss because he was not just a pastor and spiritual mentor but a true father figure to me and my daughters. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support have left an indelible mark on our lives.
The broadcaster – who is also a social justice and health advocate as well as a motivational speaker – revealed that the pastor had no qualms about accepting her, despite the stigma.
Criselda Kananda – who has been living with HIV for over 20 years- has been transparent about the health challenges she faces.
She continued: “I will always cherish the moments we shared, the guidance he provided, especially when I disclosed my HIV status. Rhema, under his leadership, made it so easy to find my comfort in the non-judgemental Almighty God who is for all of us, and I will forever cherish the love he extended to my family.
“His legacy of faith and compassion will continue to inspire us, and we will carry his memory in our hearts forever.”
LOYISO BALA AND MORE CELEBRITY TRIBUTES
Meanwhile, Loyiso Bala also shared a touching tribute to Ray McCauley, who he claims was his spiritual mentor.
He shared: “Pastor Ray is the man who called me to ministry, mentoring me through my journey, always loving and supporting my family in every possible way”.
He added: “Truly, every encounter with Pastor Ray was life-changing.”
Other celebrity tributes included the likes of Gail Mabelane, Basetsana Kumalo, and Pushie Watson.
