Orlando Pirates will be without at least four key players on Tuesday against SuperSport United.
The Buccaneers are back in action this week after their shocking Carling Knockout Cup exit against Magesi FC this past weekend. They face Matsatsantsa in a Betway Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday night.
This marks the second of three fixtures in just seven days for the Soweto Giants, who now turn their attention to midweek league football. Pirates are tied at the top of the league and will require all three points against Gavin Hunt’s team.
Several Orlando Pirates players to miss SSU match
SuperSport were humiliated 4-0 by Amakhosi in the last 16 of the Carling KO and will look to bounce back against the Sea Robbers. Matsatsansa have had some high-profile absentees from their match-day squads over the past few weeks with Grant Margeman and Bradley Grobler both yet to feature in the league this campaign.
Their opponents on the other hand also have a number of injuries. The Buccaneers will be without Olisa Ndah, Thalente Mbatha, as well as Thabiso Lebitso and Zakhele Lepasa.
Despite missing several players on Tuesday, Orlando Pirates are still favourites to win at the Orlando Stadium. The two teams have already met this season with the Buccaneers emerging 3-1 winners in the MTN8 quarter-final.
In terms of head-to-head record, the Pirates have the edge at Orlando Stadium. The Buccaneers have won nine of the last 20 games, lost five times, and drawn the other six.
