With illustrious careers spanning years, Springbok players Makazole Mapimpi and Lukhanyo Am have won big on and off the pitch.
The two have since become some of the most celebrated players. They were part of the history-making Springboks squad that won the Rugby World Cup back-to-back.

Despite their big wins, the two have fast become some of the most followed Springbok players, and they often trend whenever they post or get posted.
Makazole Mapimpi and Lukhanyo AM are trending after they were gifted cars by Mercedes-Benz South Africa.
Photos of Makzole Mapimpi and Lukhanyo Am with their cars have gained thousands of comments and reactions since they dropped on the internet.
Against the reports, the German automobile company confirmed the news. Makazole Mapimpi has since confirmed the news with a series of Instagram posts.
He posted on Instagram, ‘A day to treasure,’ while standing beside a sleek custom-made Mercedes-Benz C63 SE.
In one of his now-viral photos, he revealed that the car was built at the famous East London plant, which built Nelson Mandela’s custom S Class in 1990.
Makazole Mapimpi posted, “In 1990, Mercedes-Benz SA presented an S Class to Tata Rholihlahla Mandela that was made by the employees at the East London plant.
“As we celebrate 30 years of democracy, Mercedes Benz SA did their second handover since then by giving myself and my bro @lukhanyoam an S class made especially for us by the workers in my hometown. Ndiyabulela @mercedesbenzsa.”
The gesture undoubtedly sees the two joining a host of Springbok players who are ‘friends of the brand’, including captain Siya Kolisi.
The two received their cars barely a year after joining forces with the automobile. Reports have it that Lukhanyo works closely with the financial services team.
While Makazole Mapimpi’s ambassadorial duties are in the cars division. Their new gifts have undoubtedly implicated some of their flashiest cars.

Makazole Mapimpi took to social media in 2023 to show off his new Mercedes-Benz GLE. The German automobile is priced at R1.2 million at several car dealerships.
The media has not established whether Mampimpi bought the car or was gifted it as part of his endorsement deal.
He has made headlines with his life of glitz and glamour. He has been spotted driving around with a Mercedes-Benz C43.
Makazole Mapimpi made headlines when his photos posing beside a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon made rounds. However, little is known about whether he owns one.
