Guests and supporters really enjoyed the 2nd annual Linked by Jazz Day Party held last month at Westport Plaza’s popular 360 hot spot. What a beautiful view of the Westport area. The was hosted by the Gateway Chapter of Links, Inc. A fundraising event, funds will help provide student scholarships and monies for special community programs. Songbird Anita Jackson kept guests entertained with a variety of current and old school tunes. A few faces enjoying the great music and catching up with friends included Gateway chapter President Stacy Edwards, Minga Furr, Paula Perkins Bryant, Creshuna Cade, St. Louis’ prima vocalist Denise Thimes, Linda Baker Roby, Judith Griffin, Vera Baker, Erika and Patrick Sandiford, Teri Bascom, Donna Knight, Paula Knight, Lee Haynes, Gail Holmes and Me. This event was a great success.
Janet and Jimmy’s newborn grandson is their youngest pride and joy! Oliver Strasser was born to Casi and Jake Strasser in New York City this summer. Native St. Louisan and proud Mom Casi Stewart Strasser and hubby Jake Strasser are enjoying parenthood while looking forward to Ollie’s first Christmas in St. Louis. Congratulations and God Bless. St. Louis Girl Friends Celebrated in Scottsdale, Arizona, last month at the glorious Gila River Resort. Diamonds in the Dessert was the theme for the fun-filled weekend. Girl Friends had a grand time celebrating with the Diamonds in the Dessert, the Scottsdale chapter, Girl Friends, Inc. Heat seeking St. Louisans enjoying the sunshine included St. Louis chapter president Malaika Horne-Wells, Susan Buford, Naretha Hopson, Stephanie Griffin, Adrienne Wells-Kestur, Ingrid Taylor and RaShetta Chavis.
St. Louis Smart Setters enjoyed an exciting evening at Painting with a Twist Richmond Heights a few weeks ago. Lots of talented artists in the group. Members enjoyed dinner and lots of laughter. Hostesses for the group’s fall social were Leslie Washington, Janet Williams, Roselyn Kirkland, Vicki Washington, Kay Shaw, Lauren Ming and Kathy SS!. The prize winners were Collins Robinson and Lisa Terry.
