The former soap actress explained she has swollen joints and shortness of breath, but is now at home resting[/caption]
The actress, who is dating Joe McKalroy, told fans she’s been unwell and struggling with “a shortness of breath” as well as swollen joints and pain.
She explained: “It’s killing me. My ankles are swollen, and I’ve started getting really short of breath.
“So the doctors sent me to A&E last night (Friday night), and I was like ‘I can’t sit’. It’s just torture.”
She added: “They ended up helping me out and giving me some nebulisers to help me breathe.”
She then revealed she was left “on the verge of tears” and wanting to go home, and added that she’s now at home but feeling “stressed”.
Stephanie, who is already mum to son Caleb, continued: “If I wasn’t pregnant I wouldn’t have gone, cos it’s just a nightmare isn’t it?
“But swollen joints, shortness of breath and pregnant…I just wanted to make sure the baby is okay.”
Revealing that she’s now at home and feeling better and settling down for a cosy night in and to get some rest.
The news comes after Stephanie has previously revealed her pregnancy journey hasn’t been easy.
She and parter Joe had been trying for a baby for two years and Stephanie said how it had been “a rollercoaster”.
Whilst the pregnancy news was welcomed by the couple, Stephanie was still fearful after previously she suffered a miscarriage when she was pregnant with ex Oliver Tasker’s baby.
She’d also lost another baby in 2017 just weeks before she went to court over a domestic violence case against her ex partner Jeremy McConnell.
Due to this, she was labelled “high risk” by doctors and has been under close observation throughout her current pregnancy.
So far in this pregnancy she’s already suffered scares when she was told by doctors that she had a haematoma and was put on complete bed rest.
Speaking to OK! she explained: “The doctor said he believed I was having another miscarriage – or an ectopic pregnancy. But I wasn’t having it, I had this strong gut feeling that it was all going to be OK.”
She was then left with further worries when after a holiday she picked up C-diff, which is a germ (bacterium) that causes diarrhoea and colitis and made her ill.
Steph then had blood tests which showed her HCG levels were too low and not doubling as they should.
HCG is the pregnancy hormone that double roughly every 72 hours before reaching its peak at around eight to 11 weeks of pregnancy.
Luckily, a few days later Stephanie was told that in her latest results the levels had tripled.
Steph is best known for her on-screen role where she previously played Sinead O’Connor in Hollyoaks on Channel 4.
She then went on to appear as Courtney in Coronation Street.
