Prince Harry ‘extended’ solo trip to SA while Meghan is in LA

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry reportedly extended his solo trip to South Africa to spend time with friends and family while his wife, Meghan Markle was in Los Angeles.

PRINCE HARRY EXTENDS SOLO TRIP IN SOUTH AFRICA

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry reportedly extended his trip in South Africa, according to Sky News Australia. This meant he would not reunite with his wife, Meghan Markle for “another few days”. Meghan made a surprise appearance at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala on Saturday 5 October.

While Prince Harry has been crossing the globe for engagements. He went from New York City, to London, to Lesotho to South Africa. While in Lesotho, the Princess of Lesotho hosted him for lunch.

The publication reports that Prince Harry was due to head back to California and reunite with his wife and their two children this weekend. However, a Sussex source confirmed the Duke quietly extended the solo trip.

“It’s all very cloak and dagger but Harry has extended his trip abroad by another few days,” the source told the Daily Express newspaper on Saturday.  

“He’ll likely go to Johannesburg and then to visit family and friends,” the source continued.

PRINCE HARRY’S FAMILY IN SOUTH AFRICA

Earl Spencer, the brother of Princess Diana, and his ex-wife Victoria Lockwood relocated to South Africa back in 1995. However, the pair divorced in 1997 and Earl returned to the UK, but Victoria and their four children stayed in Cape Town.

Prince Harry reportedly remained close to his aunt Victoria and cousins Lady Kitty, Lady Amelia, Lady Eliza and Louis, Viscount Spencer. They all attended his wedding in 2018.

“The Spencers have a home there (in Cape Town) and he has a lot of friends from that part of the world,” the source continued.

Prince Harry and Meghan quit their roles as senior working members of the royal family in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California where they started a new life with their kids. The pair are parents to Archie (5) and Lilibet (3).
