Former Orlando Pirates forward Lesedi Kapinga will continue his career in the Betway Premiership this season.
ORLANDO PIRATES RELEASE LESEDI KAPINGA
Following an extended pre-season that included a trip to Spain, three MTN8 matches, and three CAF Champions League matches, Sea Robbers coach Jose Riveiro decided to drop 29-year-old attacker Kapinga from his plans.
The decision comes just over a season since the Musina-born player joined from Mamelodi Sundowns as a free agent.
“Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Lesedi Kapinga for the early release of his contract,” the club said.
“Both parties have agreed to amicably part ways following a meeting earlier today. On behalf of the extended Orlando Pirates family, we would like to thank Lesedi for his time at the Club and we wish him all the best for the future.”
Kapinga followed after the likes of Kermit Erasmus, Richard Ofori, Siphelo Baloni, Fortune Makaringe and Vincent Pule out of the Orlando Pirates gate this season.
SEKHUKHUNE UNITED MOVE
Meanwhile, Sekhukhune have announced Kapinga’s signing without revealing any contract details.
“Sekhukhune United are delighted to announce the signing of Midfielder Lesedi Kapinga. Welcome to the Babina Noko Family,” the club said via X.
