PSL coach bites the dust after three successive league defeats!

PSL side AmaZulu have announced their decision to part ways with coach Pablo Martin after three successive league defeats.

Under Martin’s watch, AmaZulu lost 2-1 to Polokwane City, 3-1 to Kaizer Chiefs and 1-0 to Marumo Gallants.

And the AmaZulu management, led by president Sandile Zungu, saw it fit to fire the Spaniard and his assistant Aitor Van Den Brule.

Martin was in his second season with Usuthu, and expectations were that he would go a level up in the PSL this term.

However, the club’s poor start to the campaign has now cost him his job.

AmaZulu announced the immediate departure of Martin and his assistant in a statement on Monday night.

Martin was in charge of 39 competitive PSL games for Usuthu – overseeing 12 wins, 12 draws and 15 defeats; three of which came this term.

It is unclear at this stage who AmaZulu will go for as their head coach.

However, they have enough time to make that decision since the league will resume towards the end of October.

“AmaZulu FC has decided to part ways with Head Coach Pablo Franco Martin and Assistant Aitor Van Den Brule,” reads the statement.

“We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to both Pablo Franco Martin and Aitor Van Den Brule for their contributions during the last 15 months at the helm of the team.

“Their dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, and we appreciate all the effort they have put into their roles.

“We wish them the best in their future endeavours and extend our warmest regards as they move forward in their careers.

“Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
