PSL transfer rumours: Mofokeng, Velebayi, Appollis, Saleng

There is hot property in the PSL right now.

Europe, which is most players’ dream destination, is knocking on the door with Monnapule Saleng and Relebohile Mofokeng being monitored from the continent.

PSL gossip:

  • Interest surrounding Mofokeng is heating up, with Glasgow Rangers and RB Salzburg reportedly watching the 20-year-old from afar.
  • Asanele Velebayi is a top target for Kaizer Chiefs, who are hoping to sign him in the January transfer window, following several rejected bids in the winter.
  • Bafana Bafana’s Oswin Appollis is another player on Nasreddine Nabi’s radar, with inside sources believing he will likely move from Polokwane FC this summer.
  • Saleng is another Orlando Pirates star attracting European attention – this time, it’s Belgium’s Standard Liege who are considering the 26-year-old.

More on the Appollis and Saleng situation

An anonymous SoccerLaduma source confirmed Kaizer Chiefs desire to land attacking-midfielder Oswin Appollis, saying, “The coach had seen his games on tape and followed him in (scouting) reports. Nabi was happy and that’s why there were talks with Polokwane City for the player. Now he has seen him in action for both club and country and he demands for him to be signed in January”.

Regarding Saleng, a different source said, “It’s not like the interest died off. It is just that last season he was not playing much so it was hard for the teams interested in him to monitor his progress but they were checking what was going on. Now, since he is back in the thick of things, the interest has arisen again”.

“It’s Standard Liege that have shown interest. Actually, last season, they were also interested in Mohau Nkota while Monaco SC were interested in Saleng. So, now it is believed that the Standard Liege scouts are looking at Saleng since Nkota has not been playing much since his promotion”, they concluded.
