Siya Kolisi will reportedly have Rassie Erasmus’ support when the Springboks heads north amid his divorce.

This comes after the Kolisis announced they are splitting on Tuesday, 22 October.

RASSIE ERASMUS IN SIYA KOLISI’S CORNER?

IOL reports that Rachel and Siya Kolisi’s divorce announcement came after coach Rassie Erasmus revealed the 34-man squad for the United Kingdom tour. The team will face Scotland, England, and Wales this November.

The publication adds that Kolisi may have met with Erasmus to reassure him [Erasmus] that he’s in the right frame of mind to play in November.

It is believed the Springboks captain may have also met with Erasmus to discuss his marital situation before the squad announcement.

Erasmus also made headlines in May when it was reported that he and wife, Nicolene are divorcing after 20 years.

KOLISIS CONFIRM DIVORCE

The rugby player Siya and businesswoman Rachel Kolisi announced in a statement on Instagram that they have mutually decided to end their marriage eight years later.

“We wanted to share some important news with you. After much reflection and open conversations, we have mutually decided to end our marriage.”

“This decision comes from a place of love, respect and understanding that this is the best path forward for both of us. While our relationship as a couple is changing, we remain great friends and committed partners in raising our children with the same love and care they’ve always known.”

They have a first son, Nicholas Siyamthanda, who was born in 2015 and a daughter named Keziah, who was born in 2017.

Wedding Etc reports that Siya’s young half-siblings Liyema and Liphelo also live with the family. The Springboks captain and siblings share a mother who unfortunately passed away in 2009.

The South African contacted Mr Kolisi for a comment on Thursday, 24 October.
