Kaizer Chiefs were 2-0 down until the 77th minute.
A minute later, the scoreline read 2-2 thanks to a Mduduzi Shabalala double.
However remarkable the comeback they shouldn’t have been in the situation – two goals down to a newly promoted side.
Unable to find a third, both teams left with one point, and ironically, it was the new boys Magesi who felt hard done by – Chiefs seemed relieved to have not lost.
Nasreddine Nabi’s reign has taken an unexpected turn since his honeymoon started winning successive league games.
They are rooted 8th on the table, 11 points behind their noisy neighbours and league leaders Orlando Pirates, but with a game in hand.

Nabi’s words after the game
“Yes, it’s true that we came from two goals behind which shows improvement in terms of mentality and character but that was not enough because we believe that we should have taken the three points today,” Nabi told FARPost.
“It’s obviously something that we have improved on, the character. But in this kind of game, with this kind of club, that’s not enough.
“We need to do more, and especially we need to do more at the beginning. When you have possession, you need to score when you have opportunities.”
“Today [Wednesday] there’s nothing positive we’re talking because we believe we should have taken the three points.”
Before the game, Magesi coach Clinton Larsen, said, “As Magesi, all we’re looking for is an honest performance from the team; it’s a disciplined performance to make sure that we make life uncomfortable for these superstars.
“The only way to do that is to work your socks off. We need to run more than they do and tackle more than they do. Arrive at their box more than they do ours. If we do those things consistently well, we’ll always have a chance to win football matches.”
