Kaizer Chiefs has proven to be a challenging place for many players, and Siyethemba Sithebe is no exception.
The weight of the mighty Amakhosi jersey has gotten the better of many quality players in recent years, and constant coaching changes haven’t helped either.
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has since opened up on his two-year spell at Naturena. Take a look at what he had to say below.
Sithebe opens up on Kaizer Chiefs spell
“I would say that there are things that confuse players because there are different tactics from different coaches,” – Sithebe told Far Post regarding his Kaizer Chiefs exit.
“So, according to me, the style of play won’t suit every player. Even the players who are playing, when a new coach arrives there’ll be changes. I can say that those things affect players and who they were before the new coach arrived.
“In the second season, I was mostly affected by injuries. In that way, I couldn’t get game-time. I had a two-year contract, and when the season ended, it was not renewed.”
In other news, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has reportedly taken a decision on the immediate future of rising star Manqoba Ozoemena.
The 19-year-old Diski Challenge star, who travelled with the first team to Turkey for their pre-season camp, has left a lasting impression on Nabi.
Nabi however feels the youngster should be sent out on loan to continue his development journey.
According to the latest reports, Kaizer Chiefs are looking at potential options for the attacking midfielder.
Amakhosi youngster set for loan move
“The coach believes in Manqoba. He really likes the kid, but for now, he thinks he needs to gain experience hence the need for the team to send him on loan,” an insider told Soccer Laduma regarding Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Manqoba Ozoemena.
“You know he is just 19-years-old and he has a great future but they don’t want to throw him in the deep end without proper experience and the loan to a PSL side would help him develop further as a player and be ready for next season.”
Next three Kaizer Chiefs league fixtures
The Amakhosi now enjoy a lengthy Betway Premiership break before tackling SuperSport United on 26 October.
Four days later, Nabi’s side travel to the Peter Mokaba Stadium to face the newly-promoted Magesi FC.
Kaizer Chiefs then host Royal AM on 09 November at the FNB Stadium. How many points will Nasreddine Nabi’s side collect in their next three matches?
