Strictly Come Dancing fans have voiced their worries after spotting a concerning detail during Saturday night’s live show.

This week, it was Icons Week, with the remaining 10 couples dancing to legendary tunes from some of pop music’s biggest names, including Madonna, Queen, and The Beatles.

In a shock results show on Sunday night, it was Montell Jordan and her partner Johannes Radebe dancing off against Sam Quek and her partner Nikita Kuzmin.

The judges voted to save Montell and Johannes, meaning that Sam was the sixth celebrity to bow out.

But despite the shock exit, it was another moment that had BBC viewers at home worrying for the health of one of the professional dancers.

After performing an emotional couple’s choice routine to Pink’s 2017 hit What About Us, Tasha Ghouri and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec scored a whopping 39 from the judges.

But, as the pair were receiving heaps of praise from Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke, it was Aljaz’s breathing that raised concerns.

Things were then exacerbated when Aljaz and Tasha had to climb the Strictly studio stairs to get to the newly named ‘Clauditorium’ and receive their scores.

Immediately, people at home spotted his breathing. X user @KevGla99 said: ‘Sound people not turning Aljaz’s mic off and just the constant heavy breathing has sent me.’

@TeenaMassam was able to see the funny side of the situation: ‘Aljaz with all the heavy breathing, yes I’m recording it!’

But some viewers, while finding it funny initially, started to express concerns, with @Ariadne_Reviews saying: ‘Somebody cut Aljaz’s mic! The deep exhausted breathing is killing me!’

@SouthernCazza added, ‘Crikey! Aljaž needs to knock Strictly on the head if it’s affecting his breathing that badly,’ while @SecretSpartacus theorised, ‘Bit worried about Aljaz’s breathing… do a Covid test, please.’

Other viewers claimed to spot moments where Aljaz looked to be having trouble lifting Tasha during points of their routine, which was a deeply personal one to the former Love Island star.

Nothing official has been confirmed by the BBC, and no news has emerged regarding Aljaz’s health, but fans have expressed their concerns nonetheless.

It comes after Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden was forced to withdraw from Icons Week after being rushed to hospital after the Halloween show.

Her celebrity partner JB Gill danced with Lauren Oakley as Amy watched on, and scored an incredible 39 from the judges – it’s not yet known if Amy will return to the dancefloor next week.

The 34-year-old from Wales was reported to have ‘felt unwell’ after Saturday’s live show last week. She missed the 2023 series of Strictly while undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Amy’s spokesperson said: ‘Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution.’

‘She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy’s privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.’

The BBC declined to comment on this story.
