The 22-year-old forward Boitumelo Radiopane has been back at Orlando Pirates from a loan deal at Cape Town Spurs, but the struggle for game time has been clear. A former youth coach has said the best is coming.
ORLANDO PIRATES CONFIRM BOITUMELO RADIOPANE RETURN
The Sebokeng-born star shot to fame in the DStv Diski Challenge in 2019. The success was followed by a loan move away from Orlando Pirates to Cape Town Spurs for two seasons. Back in late August, the Sea Robbers confirmed that “Radioman” will wear jersey number 42.
About two months later, Radiopane is yet to start a game for Orlando Pirates except for two late substitute cameos in the colours of the Sea Robbers.
CONFIDENCE FROM FORMER COACH
Meanwhile, the player’s former coach at the School of Excellence, Themba Dlamini, believes the youngster is destined for success.
“When we are talking of [Boitumelo] Radiopane, we are talking of a top striker, no doubt about that,” Dlamini told FARPost.
“People have seen what he’s capable of [scoring goals]. He did well in the DDC, then he was sent out on loan [Cape Town Spurs]. He did well there, he was just unfortunate with that injury. I think the club did well in the manner sending him on loan, but the injury disturbed his progress.
“Now he’s back, I’m happy, I think the club should monitor him, in terms of the workload. If he stays injury-free and gets some game time he will start delivering,” Dlamini concluded on the Orlando Pirates striker.
SHOULD ORLANDO PIRATES MAKE ANY SIGNINGS IN JANUARY?
