Springboks will soon embark on a November tour of the United Kingdom, playing Scotland, England, and Wales in back-to-back weeks.
Rassie Ermasmus’ side are aiming to finish the year in style with a clean sweep, extending their 2024 record to 11 wins from 13 games, losing only to New Zealand and Argentina.
There will be some bad blood from the hosts, namely Scotland and England, who were both beaten by the Boks in last year’s World Cup nearly a year ago to the day when the sides meet in a month’s time.
Erasmus has beaten England in a World Cup final and semi-final, meaning they’d love nothing more to uproot South Africa’s dominant record and ensure Ireland remains number one on the world rankings.
Aphelele Fassi
Sharks fullback Aphelele Fassi showed out in his return to the Springboks scoring four tries in the Rugby Championship, including a double against Argentina in the title-deciding match.
Fassi could stamp his ticket when the struggling Sharks play Glasgow Warriors tomorrow.
Kick-off: 15:45
Damien Willemense
Damien Willemense has been on the sidelines for several months after suffering a finger ligament injury in May but seems back to his best, earning Man of the Match in his first game back for the Stormers.
One of the main conundrums Erasmus faces while picking his side is whether to bring Fassi, Willemense, and Willie le Roux or only two of the three.
The 26-year-old fullback has been playing fly-half since returning to his club, making him as versatile as he is prolific—a tricky decision for Erasmus.
Stormers take on Munster this weekend.
Kick-off: 18:00
RG Snyman
World Cup winner RG Snyman is another player fresh off an injury who is likely to be in Erasmus’s upcoming plans.
The 29-year-old Leinster lock enjoyed a dominant game against his old and bitter club, Munster, winning 26-12.
Snyman will hope to back it up with another impressive display when they face Connacht this weekend.
Kick-off: 20:35
