Acting legend Trudie Goodwin is set to star in the final ever week of Doctors.
The star became a household name throughout the 80s and 90s, featuring in drama The Bill as June Ackland.
In the early 2000s and 2010s, Trudie featured in Heartbeat, Casualty and ITV’s Emmerdale. There, she played Georgia Sharma, the mother of Jai (Chris Bisson).
Last year, Georgia returned to the Dales but was not played by Trudie. Instead, Lin Blakley, who is very well known to fans of EastEnders, took over.
Lin starred as Pam Coker on the BBC soap, who, alongside husband Les, ran the funeral parlour. After they moved away, Pam stayed in touch, particularly with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), who she had taken under her wing.

In just a few days time, Trudie will return to our screens as Sylvie Mackie in BBC’s Doctors.
The actress has had previous roles in the soap, playing a character called Beth in 2012, and then Meg in 2021.
Not much is known about Trudie’s new role but she will act alongside star Timothy West, well known for playing Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer) dad in EastEnders.
Trudie won’t play the character for very long as next week, the final ever episode of Doctors will air.
Over on the BBC website for Doctors, a handful of spoilers have also been revealed for the last instalment.

The intriguing description reads: ‘Rob gets worried when Ruhma lands herself in hot water, Graham has become a partner and all is lost, while Scarlett’s in no mood to celebrate her birthday.’
The episode is also titled One Day Like This, perhaps a fitting and poignant name to mark the end of a much-loved show.
