IT’S always a gamble when you start transforming an old house.
But one woman has delightedly revealed she hit the jackpot when she and her other half decided to take on the boarded up banisters in their 1920’s home.
A woman took to TikTok to share the amazing transformation of her banisters in her 1920s home[/caption]
Things looked “basic” at first, but as they pulled the board off, they saw hearts at the top of the spindles[/caption]
And once again was delighted to find the heart spindles beneath[/caption]
She took to TikTok to share a slideshow of pictures of the makeover, as she began: “What is hiding inside these banisters?”
Things didn’t look too good to start off, as they peeled off the boards and revealed what appeared to be plain wood beneath.
“Ooo, okay looking basic queen,” she said.
But as the board was peeled off, she saw that the wood actually had a heart cutout at the top.
“AAAAA THIS IS NOT A DRILL!” she gasped.
“I don’t know why I doubted you!”
Once they’d taken the boards off the bottom half of the stairs, they moved to upstairs, and was hoping that the wood underneath those boards would be the same.
“Yassss, perfect!” she gushed, after uncovering more heart spindles.
There was one more part of the stairs to take the board off – a tiny section going up the stairs.
And once again, the wooden spindle beneath featured a heart on the top of it.
“This is Barbie’s dream house!” she added.
“Oh my God, look at herrrrr!”
She concluded the TikTok with pictures of the before and after, which showed how much lighter and brighter the makeover had made the hallway.
“WHO WOULD COVER THAT UP?” one person questioned in the comments section.
“From experience, children will find a way to get their whole ass arm stuck in there and you’ll need to cut them out,” another pointed out.
“Sometimes they do it to persevere the wood underneath it (you mainly see this happen in older homes),” a third commented.
