The corruption case against former Sport, Arts and Culture minister Zizi Kodwa has been postponed to 24 October.
Kodwa and his co-accused Jehan McKay returned to the Johannesburg Specialised Crimes Court sitting in Palm Ridge on Thursday, 3 October. The two were arrested by the Hawks on 5 June and were released on R30 000 bail each.
ZIZI KODWA’S CORRUPTION CASE POSTPONED
The two face charges of Contravention of the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, emanating from the period between April 2015 to February 2016, when Kodwa was African National Congress (ANC) national spokesperson.
Ahead of the court proceedings on Thursday, Kodwa maintained his innocence and his legal representation Zola Majavu also insists that the state’s case is weak.
“Having gone through the docket as provided to me by the state, having read the charge sheet and the information that they are hoping to substantiate the judges on, their case is palpably weak,” Majavu told eNCA.
